  • Pure Barre Go! SHOULD BE A NO GO

I love Pure Barre the actual studio. Amazing people at the one in Kennesaw. However, corporate runs the Pure Barre Go decision. They do a terrible job running it. If you sign up for it, then it is under that studio. So you would think they get the money for it or deal with issues. Nope. There is barely anyway to contact someone over a Pure Barre Go account that does not work. I recently got kicked out of my account, and I was subscribed. If I had to bet it was because I no longer live in Kennesaw so they probably had to delete my info. But, I can’t get to the app that I paid for either. They need to learn how to work with studios on this one. I wouldn’t recommend getting Pure Barre Go unless you want to be frustrated when it doesn’t work. AGAIN NOT THE STUDIOS FAULT!

  • PB Go needs improvement!

I’ve done Pure Barre in studio for over 7 years and love it. I also liked using the On Demand Pure Barre. This new Go feature however is crappy! First, there are limited workouts available. I don’t think it’s worth the $30/month price tag to have so few workouts available. Many of the old workouts are gone. Also, I find it hard to search for specific workouts (like 15 or 30 min workouts) and instead have to click each tab like “Classic”and “Empower” to find something suitable for my timeframe. There is no way to do the workouts on my TV with my Fire-stick so I have to plug my HDMI cable into my computer to stream it on my TV. Finally, one of my biggest pet peeves I have about these new workouts is that the instructors don’t mirror you! Whenever you’re doing a video or watching the instructor, you should be able to mimic their movements. In these videos, the instructors will say “now left foot forward” except looking at the video it looks like it’s their right side. It messes me up constantly! I’ve never done a workout video where mirroring wasn’t taken into account.

Overall, this app needs a lot of improvements to be competitive to other streaming workouts and is nowhere near the value that they charge. Please Pure Barre Go, look at the feedback people are giving you and change things!!

  • Glitchy

The app is inconsistent and glitchy. I’ve been using it for 2 years, and it’s slowly getting worse. It fails to load classes, or doesn’t allow you to cancel/book classes because it states “oops! Failed to load pages!” over and over again. If you are using it to book classes at a physical location, you get charged if you book a class and don’t show. So, by not being able to “cancel” a class from your app, because of the glitches, it’s a consistent nightmare if you’re trying to change your schedule.

  • App isn’t great

If I didn’t have to have the app to easily sign up for classes, I wouldn’t bother having the app at all. What is the point in being able to see your class history if you can’t even see the date of the class? I also signed up for the Platinum challenge within the app to track my 15 classes each month. I didn’t know that I needed to accept on the first day and it apparently doesn’t have technology advanced enough to see that I’d taken 3 classes before I clicked the button. 🙄 Looks like others aren’t happy with this most recent update either. Please listen to your users and give us the simple information that used to be available.

  • Workout is great, the app needs work

I recently quit Beachbody because I wanted to focus on Barre only. I really love Pure Barre and that there are sooo many workouts to choose from, but the app is definitely not where it should be for a company as well-known as PB. The app only keeps track of LIVE classes you attend, which means if you’re working out at home your accomplishments go without acknowledgment. The workout sections are straightforward, but there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how the workouts themselves are organized. There is no filter option to pick a class length or instructor and unless you are keeping track yourself, there’s no way to know which workouts you’ve already done.

  • Bring Back On Demand

I loved Pure Barre on Demand. I used it a lot during my maternity leaves and loved the variety of offerings as well as the way it was organized. I went back to use the updated Go app earlier in quarantine and was shocked at how terrible it was. A huge step backwards in an age and time when everyone else is moving forward and offering more and better. I also tried to pause it for financial reasons in April and was also shocked that during a pandemic with historic unemployment, there was no “temporarily pause membership” option from a company run by a big corporation.

I sucked it up and made cuts elsewhere out of loyalty and because I joined for the discounted price in the beginning of On Demand and didn’t want to lose that, but after seeing what else was out there for free online, I’ve decided it’s no longer worth it. I appreciate the intensives but that’s about it. They’ve had months to update the app based on everyone’s feedback but nothing has changed.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, absolutely, one of the most desired features is that waitlist function so we'll take this back to the team for sure!
  • STILL no search and disappointing support

Since my previous review (below) I sent a comment to the corporate owners via their website on the poor functionality of the app. I got a bog standard ‘thank you’ automated reply followed by an email follow up saying they were glad they’d resolved my issue!! No resolution, 100% frustration.

It’s such a small thing to fix and the more classes they upload, the harder it is to navigate. Seriously considering canceling, such a shame.

    ——————————————————————

Pure Barre is brilliant and the app has lots of classes but it needs a search function as you’ve to scroll through them all each time. The old app had search by class/instructor/length which was much easier to use.

Another issue is that the new classes are recorded in a black studio with most of the Instructors wearing black clothes. It makes it really hard to see the movements, especially if you’re watching on a small screen. Looks classy but is totally impractical.

  • Disappointing

I have been using the pure barre app for 4 years now, and I have absolutely loved their workouts. They were categorized perfectly and everything was organized well. I could heart all of my favorite workouts and see recently done workouts. When they changed the app this year, things went down hill. Workouts are no longer categorized by equipment needed, time, or specific body parts(abs, arms, etc). No way to see what workouts you’ve done or to heart your favorites. The workouts are still great, but way less of them. It’s not pure barre itself(I still love the classes), it’s the new app that is the problem. I also cannot use the app on my tv, only my phone and computer and I cannot cast to Apple TV. You can mirror the screen through your iPhone, but the workouts are so small on the screen, you might as well be using a phone. You cannot expand the screen. So now I cannot workout on my tv. I’ve also done most of the workouts available because they got rid of the classes they used to have, so not as many to choose from. And they don’t upload new classes often enough. There is also no live class feature, yet you can join live classes on Instagram. Why not on the app? If they fixed all of the issues with the app, I would 100% continue paying monthly, but I have to cancel for now. I don’t want to workout looking at my phone screen everyday.

  • Stay away from Pure Barre Go

I enjoyed Pure Barre on Demand at the beginning of the pandemic but when the platform changed to Pure Barre Go, it has been a mistake that won’t go away. I can no longer view classes on my smart tv and the classes are now really lame. I cancelled my monthly membership at the beginning of May, and for 3 months in a row, I’ve had to dispute the charge with my charge card company. I actually made contact with the Pure Barre holding company today ... it’s up in the air as to whether they will honor my cancellation. It’s Aug 27 and I cancelled the 1st week of May. Do yourself a favor, find another way to exercise remotely!!!!

  • Pure Barre GO is a NO go

Truly disappointed with Pure Barre app and its support for their much-hyped GO feature for PB classes in demand. To start, there is a major discrepancy between classes shown on the website in the members portal vs the app’s GO section. If you use the app be prepared for total disappointment if you’re trying to “find” a workout. It’s void of features on top of the limited library. Having to use the website is equally abysmal - no way to filter and interface is awkward if you want to quickly stream to a larger device (like Apple TV). In short, developers have some major fixes to implement, including the UX (horrible). Building out an app for Apple TV (used to exist before this overhaul that is really more of a let down) would be a step in the right direction. So, this review is really about the app, accessibility and user experience - NOT about the PB classes or instruction. And judging by other reviewers, the dev team is M.I.A. On reading any of these for constructive feedback or response. If you’re interested in booking a class - use the app. If you’re looking for a great way to get your Pure Barre classes on the GO (oh, the irony) during a pandemic - don’t waste your time. Peep out Barre3 for a better app experience streaming barre classes.
