Signal safe driving app
I think the Signal® safe driving app is fantastic and very easy to use. Once it is set up, you don’t really need to do anything for it to work. It just runs in the background on your smart phone the way any other app does and it logs your driving habits. If you are on your phone and are the passenger and the app incorrectly categorizes that trip as you being the driver, you can go in and edit that trip to show that you were actually the passenger. Also, for those people that ride motorcycles, it will often not count the trip as it shows that you were not in a vehicle, but in my case, as I am a safe rider I go into the app and change those trips to drivers status so that I can receive credit for them. It’s very easy to maintain 100% of the trips with no distractions. You simply just leave your phone in your pocket or your purse or in the glove box or even just sitting on the seat next to you or in your console and it will not record you as being a distracted driver. The savings start at 10% and go up from there depending on how many people in the household use the app and what ages they are. Highly recommended!Lookingforsomesleep
Reform
I can’t say I have never used my phone in the car in the past. Usually it’s to answer an incoming call. But, since joining Farmer’s as a client I have seriously altered my driving performance. Phone turned off and in the back seat; more attention to posted speed limit signs, a big improvements in use of directional signals and less rubbernecking.
I have driven for many years and have never had a chargeable accident. I want to keep that clean record. Instead of taking my record for granted, I’m trying to be more attentive while driving. Hopefully, writing this won’t jinx me.Joan matyshak
Hands-free calling is apparently a distraction
I just started using this app and I’m already ticked off. I regularly have to take calls while driving because I am extremely busy, so I’m responsible and use Siri to manage calls while driving. I looked at my first few trips and saw I got dinged for that. Does anyone over there have any idea how distracting a conversation with a passenger can be? Perhaps this app should start recording audio too and ding us for that! 😡 This app also has its issues with properly determining if I’m the driver (as I expected). Another reviewer had the right idea: you basically need a second phone that has signal installed, wrapped up so that it doesn’t move around at all in order to not get dinged over petty nonsense like this. I’ve had it with this app already and Farmer’s as a whole.JPLucas23
