Avoid snapshot at all costs
I have actually had Progressive for many years & overall have had a good experience, but I recently got snapshot & it’s a complete scam. My policy has 5 drivers with a total of 1 moving violation & no claims over the last 10+ years. I signed up for snapshot because they offered a discount. The discount started going away a little each month because snapshot constantly quit working on 3 of our phones & wouldn’t collect the necessary information, with only 2 drivers getting full results. One of those drivers had no impact, but the other got a 1 of 5 star rating because of “hard braking” (no other negative feedback, just the hard braking). Because of that 1 driver out of 5 on the policy braking too hard an agent informed me that my policy was increasing & the results (they collected information with snapshot a total of 4 months) would affect my rate for several years to come. So, because of snapshot, I basically got a 2-month discount & now I get a higher rate for several years despite having a great driving record & no claims.
