Great company, Tech back thought
American Funds is a great company, but the app is not user friends. It is very glitchy, and you cannot use biometrics on it yet. The app let’s you change future contributions which is nice, but aesthetically and biometric wise, American Funds has a way to go.
Poor Managed Accounts
The app is not very useful and most or all of the managed investments are consistently underperforming the S&P at fairly steep premium for the “privilege”. If this wasn’t the institution that my company choose to manage our company retirement accounts, I would not have been here in the first place. Look elsewhere!

App definitely lacks
Constantly have to manually log in and although I enter correct login info and password, I receive an “account suspended” notification until I request to reset my password upon which I regain access to my account.
Also app is very limited as far as being able to adjust contribution amounts etc

Not very user friendly
It’s convenient but it’s not very user friendly
To developers
Could you please fix log in?
Account not populating
When I log in via the app, it shows my account balance and zero and gives me no options to explore anything. I can log in online and have full access to all accounts I have and their actual balances. I’ve redownloaded this app three times over the past year hoping to see a fix but to no avail.
Soggy Banking
Regularly disables face log in, constantly tells me “Incorrect password” followed by the always infuriating “Can’t change password to former password.” Not user friendly. Reminds me of the app a C List bank might use. If your employer thinks you need a crappy 401K platform, you’re likely reading this now.
