Works great with the gimbal!! Setup was a little challenging but once you get it figured out it is pretty cool what you can do
Software is not useful.
There is a terrible delay for the app to coonect with the gimbal. The gimbal is sometimes useful but the mode view is to small and hard to read in sunny lighting conditions.
Not ready for Smooth 5 but useable
Using with a newly purchased Smooth 5. Using native app will not record in HDR (10 bit Dolby Vision). Using iPhone native app does not allow use of record button or focus/zoom dial. Great gimbal with a useable app that limits the video capability of the iPhone. Hoping for app update soon as S5 is a new release.

App does not work well.
Cannot connect to the device and constantly doesn’t work. Also asks for unnecessary personal information. Avoid.
Total China Gov surveillance device at its finest
Why does it require WiFi and location to use this?! It’s basically a selfi stick. Once you allow connection to your wifi this device can access all your data! And why does it need to track where you are?!
Will not do firmware update
Firmware update is all but impossible to do always gets to 7% and fells for as popular as your products are this is ridiculous

I bought the smooth gimbal for my phone and tried using the app on 3 other devices and nothing worked. Do NOT buy. Go get a DJI Osmo and use their app.
Wants to know who you are …literally
For having great product, no…you do not need the app to run this. Bluetooth is all you need. Sure SOME features don’t work without the app but why would an App need access to everything? Your microphone, your photos, your location, your data…literally everything. I’m unsure how Apple allowed something like this on their App Store with all of the issues with hacking and identity theft going on today. I do NOT recommend downloading this app for any reason because they do not need your information to use an accessory. Just turn on your Bluetooth and connect and it should start working once it’s paired.
