In five simple steps, you can create your New York MiD:
1. Download the app and set permissions
2. Verify access to your phone number
3. Use your device camera to scan the front and back of your driver license or ID card
4. Follow the steps to capture a selfie
5. Set up app security and you’re good to go!
Please note: New York Mobile ID is an official state-issued ID, serving as a companion to your physical ID. As not all entities are able to verify a Mobile ID, you should continue to carry your physical ID.

I’ve tried adding my license to this app 50+ times and each time had an error either after verifying my phone number, taking pictures of my ID, or in the 2 cases that the ID pics worked the session timed out somehow. This app needs an overhaul or just do the right thing and go right for Apple Wallet or Google support. No idea why we have been running around the solution this entire time. Of the other 2 states that have this app (Arizona and Utah), Arizona also supports Apple Wallet and Google as well, why don’t we??!!
