  • Terribly designed app!

    For all your information at your fingertips, everything you need to know, this app is lacking having information on your information, the information they do show is confusing to find, incomplete, unclear and and confusing. Click on a section to find out more and it tells to download the app, takes you to the App Store for the app you are already in then tells you to log in. The explanations of PennCash PennCredit are terrible, don’t tell you that there is a difference (PennPlay Credit can only be used to bet on sports), how to use it for casino play even though in the ESPNBet app that directs to create an account and tells you “Free Penn Cash” and then again in the Penn Play app “Use on slots in person or online”….. i’ve been searching the app clicking on everything back-and-forth and talked to Support twice for over an hour now and can’t figure out how to get it for slot play and I don’t want to click on it and get stuck with this sports bed like my mom did I don’t watch sports. I know nothing about sports. Anyway enough rambling absolutely terrible app.

    Unfortunately this is the only casino I go to and I use to go to Ohio but stopped Ohio as it became a true losing casino. Now for the past couple years things have completely changed at the Detroit Hollywood casino. It is bad really bad I don’t care how many days you go and how many thousand you drop a night you just can’t win anything ever. Your lucky if you can just play for a hours. Don’t talk about the offers. Garbage gifts, and there sit in spin they say win up to 1000. Really never in all the years I have been going have I ever received then what free play I was offered in the pamphlet sent to house. Then have you ever noticed that the same people win the drawings most of the time if not always. I my self have never won a drawing and I was owners and now elite.

    I love the buffet it’s probably one of the best buffets I have eaten at food is really good! I like the app like the casino! I really like this place at lot! I do wish the comps were a little better like isle view has free rooms and good comps But I do love Hollywood the games and the food! I haven’t stayed there yet so I don’t know about that. But like I said like the food and casino!

  • Perks going south 😥

    Elite perks aren’t worth maintaining the level anymore. Used to I could get a free room at my frequented locations, but now have to pay at some🤬 Also, not all are giving the tier discount on food anymore when you don’t have a coupon🤬 Takes all the fun away not being appreciated after all the money put in. I only play Hollywood casinos, but am about to switch to just Caesar’s. On a good note though, I do enjoy the mobile app and wallet with only a few exceptions. Please give us the perks we deserve or you’ll be losing more players beside myself.

  • Pathetic payouts

    Selected for BIG drawing… 25 people drawn to win up to $2500. Larger winners go to left on stage, smaller winners go to right. I won $100 in free slot play. If you were directed to go to the right the amount won WAS NOT ANNOUNCED. Of course even Ameristar was embarrassed at that kind of win on a BIG DRAWING night. Absolutely everyone I talked to had one of two comments 1) You have to be kidding me or 2) I thought $500 was the minimum! Why would Ameristar cultivate that reputation when paying free slot play? And how many other WINNERS were so fortunate to win $100 in Free slot play, 20 of the $25? Why infuriate your loyal gamblers with this type of drawing. If Ameristar can’t afford a decent drawing they should just eliminate it as this is very damaging for your reputation.
    Ameristar is no place for the moderate to medium gambler. My experience the last several times has been horrid. $190 in one machine, no bonus games, $100 In another machine, no bonus. Horseshoe and Harrah’s might not be any better but they absolutely cannot be any worse. Give me one reason as an Elite level player why I should continue at Ameristar.

  • TIGHT MACHINES AND POOR RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT!

    In regards to the Skybar, I’m not sure why you let the good people go… RACHAEL was very cordial understanding and managed that restaurant very well and not like it is at the present time. The poor waitresses and bar people were so stressed and constantly complaining and was sad to hear, I’ve been coming to this casino since day one and I’ve seen really really good and I’ve seen extremely poor and right now. Whoever is micromanaging the upstairs restaurant doesn’t seem very qualified. I speak from experience as I was a customer relations person for GM and Hummer for over 15 years. and it’s very sad to say that fingers are pointed at people when actions weren’t really done speaking about myself. I was accused of picking up someone’s plate when all I did was take a picture after the lady offered me the appetizer several several times and it was seen by one of your host, Cindy and my company that assisted me at the time of the St. Patrick’s Day dinner I don’t like being accused of something I don’t do and giving a threatening warning that if anything happens again, I’m banned from this casino so when someone says, please review a tape it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do that just please put yourself and my mind at ease and just do a simple task that’s all!!! I really enjoy coming to this casino for it’s only 15 minutes away from my home so let’s keep everybody’s trip very pleasurable!!!

    It takes a long time to trigger the bonus rounds; whenever it triggers, the bonuses aren’t worth the amount sacrificed. I have played a lot of the games and sometimes never get into the bonus. A lot of the new games like the pig and the mine games haven’t been paying out at all. But the games do keep me entertained.

    I ordered my food, haven’t been here in a long while, since 2021. A lot have changed, especially the treatment of guests.

    I’m presently sitting in a restaurant here and I ordered my food at the entrance. No one told I was ordering from the wrong place. I then asked for a sit and they replied anyway. So I placed the receipt on the table and sat. The waitress asked what was I sitting there and I told her and she asked the cashier and she told her. Then other customers came in and ate I’m still waiting. Then the manager came out with a bag to me. I stopped her from walking off and told her my order was to dine in. The song and dance she gave me was belittling. She acted like I was robbing the place. She brings me a plate, like I was supposed to plate my own food. After more words she grabbed the bag and plate. She came back and heavily pushed the plate on the table loudly. Now it has been about 20 minutes and I still don’t have a glass of lemonade but I ordered it. I used to love bringing my mom here. My first time back since her transition and I get this type of treatment. Hate people that don’t treat ALL CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT

  • Security staff and video poker machines

    Appears security staff walks around the main walkway paying no attention to customers, talking very loud with each other and sometimes 3 abreast talking up the entire lane. What’s more some walk with hands in their pockets looking very unprofessional. I’ve seldom seen them walk thru the video poker area.

    Many of the machines have needed repairs for MONTHS. Mostly broken buttons and some have card reader malfunctions. Lastly it’d be nice to have more comfortable chairs, similar to the slot machine chairs.

  • Disappointed

    A few months back I put $150 into the Penn app from my bank account. I put it into in there so if I was visiting the Casino I figured I would have easy access to it. So yesterday was my birthday and me and my wife went to Hollywood Greektown Casino only because I just realized I had that money on the Penn app. I checked it and it was on there. Long story short I tried to access it and couldn’t find out how. Was told by an employee to go to the Service Desk, that’s when I was told after 6 months if the money isn’t used they take it away. Really can’t understand how they can take your cash money you put in away that isn’t theirs to take.
