  • $1 gets you somewhere

If you think about it, when I ride Micro the vans come and sometimes it’s just you, which is great. Other times there’s other people and not to mention their seats are super small, it won’t be a problem to someone who’s small but a big person like me is when it kind of becomes an issue. The seatbelts are so small and the seats are really tight, I ended up getting squished because there were so many passengers in Altadena. I think metro Micro should at least make their seats a little more accessible. I do not like that the seat belts are super tight because of the size of the seating. I feel there’s nowhere else to rant this at so I’m ranting it here. I understand it’s only one dollar but still, what good is Micro when you have to be squished by a seven or eight other passengers?

  • Love and hate

This is so reliable and I use it almost everyday for work. My only issue is that I never missed a ride unless I had to cancel (about a hour or 2 before) because last minute things pop up. The ride doesn’t finalize till I open the app (as I said a hour or 2 before it even finds a driver. Then I get emails saying I only get half of my rides? Which isn’t true. I’d only cancel about 2 or 3? And so it limits the amount of times I can reserve a ride. The app needs to be more accurate and give the customer more time till it is finalized. I ordered a ride and had to cancel 3 hours before but once I opened the app it finalized and I know they will send me another notice and limit my rides even more. I think it’s more understandable when it’s done when a driver is already found or very last minute.

  • KEEP FARE $1 OR LOWER!

The City of LA can afford to
make transportation free but chooses not to. LA Mayor Bass signed $13 billion dollars for armed cops to terrorize, shoot, & kill Black and Brown people. Billions of dollars to the LA Sheriff gangs while schools are getting budget cuts. Meanwhile, people are starving, lacking access to quality masks, lacking safe housing. State sanctioned gangs will never keep us safe.

The city can afford to purchase 5,000 new zero emission service buses that would reduce air pollution which is already high and harming people in LA. The city can keep the metro micro at $1 or make it free! They can hire more drivers, expand the areas serviced, expand the hours (i.e make service in the weekends). I want free hand washing stations at bus stops. And masks provided on buses because there airborne viruses that are disabling and killing people. There is so much we can imagine and make possibilities to make life better for us. Thanks to the metro micro, I’ve been able to afford to commute to hospital appointments, the grocery store, pick up my meds from cvs. Resources like this really matter and it would hurt if fare increases because I can barely travel w/ my budget and wages are not getting higher!

Mass transportation belongs to the masses!

  • Heaven-sent! Safe, Economical, Efficient

I am SO grateful for Micro that I’m writing a review…That’s how much I appreciate it. It’s been a lifesaver many times! Economical, safe, professional, very easy to navigate. From the drivers to the communication from the app, it’s been great! I just wish there was more availability during peak times. During those times it’s been very difficult to find an available ride. Not surprised though since it’s so awesome! I also wish that it would go on later (it ends at 10). Finally, I wish it would expand more it’s coverage area. For example, the area that NoHo/Burbank covers is great size wise (just please add NoHo West lol), the Chatsworth/Northridge/Granada area would be great if it would go just a tiny bit south and east to cover all of Granada Hills since there are a lot of commuters who take the train from the area. Overall, very, very grateful for Micro.

  • Metro Micro Is Great

It’s a really great program for a few reasons with some conditions. First, it’s really cheap for getting you around the designated zone. Second, they’re able to pick you up and drop off you around bus stops, which makes it good if you need to connect to other modes of transportations.

Things you need to look out for:
    1. You need to plan ahead with Micro at least a day in advance. It does get busy in the morning, but in my experience it’s light in the evening (depends on your zone). Sometimes, you get lucky and can get a ride within the hour.

    2. If you need to be somewhere on time, you need to plan ahead and request it arrive 15-30 minutes at your destination before your appointment. They do run late sometimes, but in my experience, it’s never more than half an hour (if it is late at all).

    3. You do need to walk to bus stops. I consider this a plus because it gets me exercising.

All in all, it’s really good and I hope the continue the program!

  • Really good, but could use some adjustments

Ultimately, this is a fantastic program, especially since it’s only a dollar for every rider. The main issue is how limited it is! There are lots of areas that are complete dead zones for metro micro, and as someone who can’t drive for medical reasons, I rely heavily on this service. The wait times can be long, and the window before you’re left behind is extremely short. Sometimes, the finalization of your pickup spot is so close to when your pickup actually is that you might get left behind. I recommend this service to just about everyone, but unfortunately, not everyone lives in an area where it’s an option. I hope to see metro micro expand further and to see continued optimization! I’ve been using it since around it started up, and it’s come really far since then- but it still has a long way to go. I believe in you, metro micro!

  • Revolutionary, really.

It’s like a taxi, Uber, and Lyft into one (sort of) climate friendly and (very) affordable app. I just learned about Metro Micro a few days ago and I reeeeeeally wish I knew about it before. It’s about $1/tap card swipe per trip. That’s amazing. I do wish the app was more reliable with time and locations. My last ride took about 20 minutes to come, but at least this feels safer and cleaner than the rail/bus. Always get a Metro Micro like 30 minutes before however long it takes you to arrive somewhere. For example; if you want to arrive somewhere in one hour- get a metro Micro an hour and 30 minutes before. Also- get at the pick up location a minute before the expected pick-up time; sometimes drivers come and go quickly!!

The convenience of Metro Micro cannot be overstated. It's like having a personal chauffeur at my fingertips. No longer do I need to endure long, tiring walks or wait at distant bus stops. • This app is amazing!

When I stopped driving I had no idea how difficult (and expensive) it would be to move about town…and had resigned myself to basically being a shut in and forced to rely on friends and family for medical appointments and Then I heard about the MetroMicro service from a friend and feel like I am independent again. Best value for a dollar that I have found. The vans are clean, the drivers competent and friendly, and as I said above the app is amazing.

It is easy to schedule ahead and usually give you several pickup and drop off choices; the pick up stops are easy to get to; they send a minute by minute status; and have never yet been late for scheduled drop off.

Sometimes, because it IS a ride share, the travel time is longer than if you were driving, but like I said, the drop off time has been reliable which is the important issue if you have appointments.

    I totally recommend this app.

  • HATE IT

Their system is unorganized. You book a ride to be picked up at 5:55-6:05 pm and they either come REALLY LATE or NEVER show up! In addition to that, now that they have a new policy, if you cancel a ride you get penalized. So if the ride never comes after 30 minutes of waiting!! I have to cancel it, and then I get penalized for it. Their system makes NO SENSE! Sometimes drivers don’t even wait for you for at least ONE MINUTE ! I am running to catch it since they do not have proper communication, yet they see me and zoom off. Honestly this system is all over the place and their “additional drivers” have NOT improved their wait time. At least the metro bus comes in time and their customer service is better. ALSO, when you cancel the ride you have the option of making a comment. My comments are never taken into consideration, I only receive an automated email telling me they will resolve the issue with more drivers. I hate metro micro.
