  • Depends on how committed you are to waiting

These rides are ok sometimes and other times a lot of the times they are the exact opposite. I use them to get work and sometimes school. The problem is the wait times. You’ll book a ride for 3:00 and it’ll get there at 3:30 MAYBE later and you’d think oh ok I’ll book my ride for earlier than I actually want problem solved. That doesn't work either because they sometimes by a miracle WILL arrive on time and then to add insult to injury will wait a measly 1 minute and if you aren’t exactly where the bus stops is they leave. The price makes these rides so valuable but the wait times make them practically unusable.

  • Stop investing on ads

It has already been multiple times in 1 day that I try to book a ride and the app allows me to book certain times but when that time arrives the app says that they cannot service my ride but will “keep trying”. I’ve been sitting at my school for 2 hours because I am expecting a micro to come for me as the app will just keep your booked ride, searching for drivers. I have seen so much advertising about the metro micro which doesn’t make sense to me because they can barely function now so why are they trying to grow. It’s already been twice that I have to cancel late rides and scramble to book an Uber just to get to class/work on time. Also the app never tells you if there are ever micros nearby the only time you get to see a driver is when the one who has accepted your ride. Just to make myself clear the drivers are wonderful and considerate , the organization itself needs to get it together.

  • Great service and App

The Micro Metro has been a lifesaver - the app is super convenient and the service gets me where I need to go locally. Especially appreciate being able to schedule several rides in advance. And the $1 price you can’t beat. Hope they will eventually add a transfer feature for times you need ti connect other areas like Burbank/North Hollywood to Glendale. Keep up the great work !!!

  • We need this service!

This is a long time coming! I really love the convenience for tasks like going shopping for food, rides to my dr office, getting food with friends. I hope this service gets popular and really starts to make money for Metro. If they can keep the cost to less than Uber then it will be a real competition. 4 stars for not letting me use my work issued pre tax transit Wageworks commuter visa. I’m sure it will in the future

Update I have been riding for a while now and I love it. Please keep expanding service

  • Learn how to read the map

Although this is a great service, I think that some of the riders could use some training on how to read the gps. My ride was transferred to 3 different drivers before one driver finally was able to make it. I waited at the designated pick up area (NW corner). Confirmed using maps that I was on the correct corner. The driver finally gets there after waiting for 36 minutes and she waits for me at the wrong corner (SW corner). I rush to get to her since they only wait for one minute. I run up and she “no-shows” my trip and leaves as I ran up to the van. This could’ve been avoided if she just went to the correct corner, as designated on the app. Please teach the drivers how to read the maps and go to the correct pick-up location.

  • Excellent for women

Metro micro solves a problem that has plagued public transportation around LAX for decades. The walk to the metro stations can be scary or even dangerous, especially at night. Also, the LAX cabbies are not happy to pick up locals that live less than 20 minutes away by car. So Micro is a wonderful addition for locals who work at night. One thing would make it perfect - extending the north and south boundaries from Centinela to Rosecrans. I’d get rid of my car for that.

  • Best kept secret

I never write reviews, and part of me doesn’t want to write this so it doesn’t get too popular/longer waiting times/price increase

As someone who lives in an area that isn’t the most walkable, doesn’t have much in the way of metro, and no car, this has been a game changer. I am now able to get a ride to/from the grocery store (which alternatively would be a 30 min each way walk + hills), the train, and other shops too far to walk to. I have taken $8 Ubers for the same distance that metro micro only charges $1 for.

All of the drivers I have had have been very friendly and drop me off a block or less away from my building.

My one critique is that I wish it went later, and becomes available on weekends!

This is the best thing I have seen from the LA metro system in the 5 years I’ve lived here.

  • Amazing but

This is literally the best thing that was ever created Im a college student at ucla so this is literally so affordable and I love it but It doesn’t drop me to my house as it’s a little outside my area but it takes me far enough only thing is that the drivers don’t really wait too long. I had booked a ride and I had to walk 13 min to the pick up and the driver was 6 minutes away so I had to run and right as I got there it left and then I had to wait like 40 min to get another one. They aren’t as frequent as I thought it would be it’s sometimes a hit or miss but I think it still beats riding the bus so i enjoy it. There’s also the fact that the operation hrs are not great I work early and leave school late so the times isn’t always great.

  • Terrific service and employees

Life’s not perfect, but the drivers and personnel go a long way to making things better. They’re all patient and helpful, and seem to really care. For such a new service, it’s amazing how together they are in such a short period of time.

Plus it’s only going to get better!
  • Super convenient and affordable option vs other ride apps

Very convenient to have as affordable option compared to Lyft or Uber. Only $1 and no need to tip

Speaking for the Pasadena area, It picks and drops off at bus stops and that’s often not far from your destination. It has always arrived in the time frame specified. The van is spacious too. It may be shared with other passengers depending on busyness or route. It’s incredibly convenient, I hope LA keeps this service going.

Only downsides may be you have to book your ride in advance to make sure you have a ride scheduled. If it’s very busy and in use, you may be out of luck like I was once and have to walk back. So be sure to book in advance at least several hours if not a day at peak times (like dinner on weekends or school days in the morning and school buses). Everyone I know has loved this service and I’m sure future riders will too.
