Micad GLN Scanner

The Micad GLN Scanner App is an implementation aid for NHS Trusts committed to GS1 rollout. The App is specifically designed to speed up and improve reliability of the labelling process for GLN barcodes fixed to walls and doors. By scanning the GS1 GLN barcode, the App lists the room’s physical address together with any related meta and ‘functional’ occupancy data. The CAD floor plan provides the confirmation needed to be assured that correct room has been chosen for libelling. The room highlighted in red automatically at the request of the GLN lookup. The complete CAD plan is featured great quality on iPad and iPhone, precise detail becomes available for review together with services layouts if you have them. The labelling project is considerably less time consuming (25% according to pilot) less time and this firmly attributed to the mitigation of paper-based preparations and human error. Provides an ongoing solution in longer term in house label management Provides a means for direct access to CAD floor plans and their services layouts anywhere on site Provides a means to identify room data anywhere on site *Location services are optional: Never, Ask, While using the App. The Micad GLN scanner App may use location services to identify and display the barcode read for the GLN, GPS is used from device location at this point only. This is purely referential information that some clients may find useful for technical projects related to room positions – if they wish. The App does not collect location data. Location services are not needed during the reverse look-up or qualification of GLN labels. When Location services are disabled, the App’s Map feature button is disabled too. *Micad GLN Scanner is a complementary App available for Micad IPR clients. To use this App you need a Micad IPR system version 3.6 or later. The GLN Scanner App does not work stand alone. Please contact Micad to setup your IPR’s API for the GLN Scanner App *Where GLN have been created with extensions, the App will scan the GS1 GLN component. The extension is only plain text and plays no part in location data other than description.
