  • Missing kun-yomi readings

The app is easy to navigate. But important readings are missing from the Kanji study cards. For example:魚さかな、重おも
If you already have knowledge of kanji, you can catch these omissions, but if you start out studying kanji you might miss the most common readings and studying the vocab will become confusing. If the system would allow you to make a note or add the missing reading to your deck, you could work around this flaw. But it doesn’t. So you have to trust the developer to be accurate.…

While some interface can seem rather confusing, overall i think this is a great app for memorizing Kanji. Theres so many ways to learn and you can go at your own pace. You can select exactly what you want to learn when you want to learn it. You can customize your own tests and quizzes as well, which i think is a great step in learning something. This differs from other apps in that aspect— a majority make you relearn something you may already know. Many things to search from, amazing app.

  • BEST for learning kanji

this is the most thorough app i’ve seen, and the easiest to work with. it’s perfectly helpful and creating lists to study is my favorite thing about it. it helps me study what I’m learning in my japanese class, where other apps try to create a different learning path that ends up making my class more difficult. highly recommend!

  • Great app, but 々 is missing

I really like this app, but I with that it would sync between devices. Also, I wish there was a way to give feedback beside social media for people who don’t have twitter or instagram.

々 gives me an error saying “kanji not found” even though it comes up when I do a handwritten search.
  • Nice and clean app

However, it would be nice to have a feature in the window were all the kanji’s are displayed that will allow you to see which ones you already master (like the MANABI READER app). I guess you could create a list, but visually it is not the same. If it wasn’t for this I would have bought this right away

  • Great app to reinforce kana, vocab and Kanji

Overall, this is a great learning app and I would highly recommend it as a supplement to reinforce your vocab and kanji studies. I would only recommend that there should be a separate kanji section for the kunyomi and onyomi spellings because it is imperative to learn both!
  • The best app to learn Kanji

This app is awesome for learning kanji. I downloaded it on my iPad and I’m learning so much. It makes it a lot easier to learn how to write since you can see the stroke order and trace it as well. I would give it 7 stars if I could!!!!
  • I like it

It really helped me with learning Hiragana and Katakana, but i would recommend also using the “Japanese!” App for those two although it will cost a small amount of money. I’m not going over to the kanji section and I’m kinda lost on how to get started.
  • Great Flashcard App

I came from the Hiragana and Katakana app from the same developer and I have to say that I’m learning faster than ever with this approach. I’d give the app 5 stars but there is an issue when selecting custom quizzes. Instead of deselecting a group of test materials it includes all the test materials instead. So if I want to practice Kanji only, there is no way of deselecting the vocab list. Also, for the vocab I noticed that for the word “anata”, the hiragana for it says “anta” which is different. I have not practiced the vocabulary section yet but it may need to be revised. If these two things can be addressed I will happily come back and rate it 5 stars. I purchased the lifetime access and am happy I did so. Thanks!

  • I like it!

I'm using this app alongside みんなの日本語, which I work through with a tutor. It's helpful for keeping on top of new vocabulary and making sure to keep that knowledge around. I was just haphazardly studying and that was just wasting time and money. Glad to have something with structure now.
