  • Great tool to relearn

This has been a fantastic app helping me refresh the Japanese I learned while doing a year exchange in Japan a few years ago. Certainly no app teaches the right way for everyone, but this one has worked great for my needs.
  • Amazing 👌🏻

Great way to learn vocabulary and kanji, you can use this apps creators other app called “kana” to learn your kana before coming here to learn or relearn vocabulary as well as kanji and the SRS feature makes it all great and well managed so that you know what you got to do and when to do it. I would also love if a black background just like in the “kana” app was added since I really dislike the blue and red backgrounds.

Still hoping the black backgrounds be added for the menu or main screen, besides that the new update make the app even better for if you use writing of Kana and kanji

  • Highest potential Japanese app on the store

Overall review 10/10 - Normally I never write reviews, but for this app I was so impressed that I needed to. This app after small changes to the UI, changes for the pronunciation and other small improvements (such as kana data transfer to Benkyō) will be one of the best apps for Japanese. Keep on having updates!

  • Great app!!!

I’ve been looking for some good apps to help with my Kanji so I can prepare for JLPT and this app is great. :) It runs smooth and allows you to see Kanji divided by JLPT and/or school level. It’s very informative by showing the different readings, stroke order, and pronunciations for characters and also has a flash card function. I use it every time I study and it has been a huge help! :)

  • Nice features but poor pronunciation

If the pronunciation was better I would definitely use the app. However the pronunciation is incorrect and unintelligible. I like how you can choose the cards from different levels to study from. It’s an easy app to figure out unlike some that have no explanations.
  • Very good for a free Kanji app.

I don’t know how many Kanji are included in just the free version, but it might be the full standard 2100 Kanji. The flash cards are fast paced and you learn the meanings and the readings. Even though it already has some form of this outside the flash cards, something that might be really cool, even if only in the paid version, would be writing out the kanji as part of the quizzes/flash cards. One poor thing I noticed is they may let you do unlimited quizzes on your first day of downloading so you give a good review.

  • Well thought-out

I like this app so far for searching and learning non-jouyou kanji that the main kanji learning systems do not cover.

Big problem, though - does not sync across devices! I use both my iPad and phone for learning Japanese, so the lists and SRS need to be identical on each. Add this, and I'll buy the lifetime :).

  • Lovin’ It😍

I learn a lot from this app! It works great! The only thing I would recommend is the option to not learn how to write kanji in FlexSRS. I get instructed to write kanji even when the writing scope is unselected. Although I understand that advancing means to eventually learn how to write kanji, I believe that the app pushed it too early and it became overwhelming.

  • Outstanding!!!

I’ve been studying Japanese for 30+ years. I’m conversationally fluent but I let my kanji study lapse for a long time. I recently moved to Tokyo and decided that I wanted to become literate within a year. I’ve tried a number of apps for studying kanji and this one is the best I’ve found.

One of the things that makes it great that few if any other apps have is that it allows you to create your own lists of words or kanji and then allows you to study just those.

I also really like that it allows you to study in both directions - English to Japanese and vice versa. Again, not many apps allow that.

I signed up for the lifetime Pro within about an hour of using this app. Highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about studying Japanese language and Kanji. Nicely done!

  • Great app, found this one through your sensei app.

Was curious if you could make it so that on Kanji—> to pronunciation/reading exercises that there was an option for audio to play after you get it right or wrong.
