Nearly there for me
This almost became my replacement for Anki. The app is phenomenal for being mostly free and I tip my hat to the developer for creating such a wonderful tool for learning. Had this app had a native level speaker to say the readings out loud, ways to import your own cards, and a way to learn the pitch accent of each word, I would give this a full 5 stars and gladly pay for the lifetime membership on top of a donation.Show lesspunishedbanshee

I've been using Benkyo Pro (including the additional content) for a few months. I'm very glad that the developer is continuing to work on the app. That's a big plus. I use this app for the FlexSRS flashcard system. Once I put the things I want to study into it, I really like how it works. It's very smart. Unfortunately, it's being held back by some major issues. This app is organized in a way I'm not familiar with (decks, JLPT, lessons, grades, etc), and it's difficult to use as a normal person who just wants to do flashcards. This app needs ONE unified vocabulary list with ONE entry per term that works with FlexSRS. Common phrase "sumimasen" has four entries across two vocab lists, and two of those only have half the definition. There also needs to be a list of the cards that are in the FlexSRS deck where I can remove individual cards from the deck. As it is now, I have to do it by memory. There problems are ridiculous and difficult to deal with, but hopefully they'll be fixed in a future update. The widget update was very useful. I'm pretty unhappy with the update that makes visually distracting changes to the writing flashcards, like telling what to draw right where I'm trying to draw and alerting me whenever the broken identification system thinks I'm right. Essential app for learning Japanese
I’m so glad I’m finally writing this review. I don’t know where I’d be without this app. It’s easy to use, highly effective, and helps keep me motivated in learning. It covers so many learning levels, so I know I’ll be using it for a long time to come! Thank you for this app!soupcato
Easy deck management, worth the upgrade
I like that there are 4 types of card for each kanji. Managing my decks is so much easier than Anki! Definitely worth the subscription to unlock all the kanji. I just wish the writing card had the meaning in addition to the pronunciation._A_G_
Some issues, but overall great!
This is the best app I’ve found for learning kanji and vocab, the different quiz settings are great for pacing and review. There are a couple issues in that some of the pronunciation audio clips are distorted, and deselecting all vocab options in the custom quiz will actually include all vocab instead of none. If these were fixed I think the app would be pretty much perfect though!Show lessBatman Kittyface

This app jut like all the other ones are PERFECTION! When I first got one of apps I think it was the kanji one, I thought it wasn’t gonna be as good...it’s tremendously awesome in every way. Amazing app
I’ve been looking everywhere for an app that’s free that lets me make a kanji test format thank you! I have one question though, how do we use lists? I’m trying to group certain kanji together so I can quickly quiz on them using a list, but I don’t know how to make them.help pls hgfyb
Perfection
Just like all their other apps, this one is an absolute perfect hit for Japanese learners. The one bad thing I could possibly think of is the fact that it is free, but that means you have no reason at all not to download (and never delete) this app that many more people deserve to know about.
Edit - I did a bit more with the app and would love to support you with buying pro but I hate subscriptions so is there any way you could make one (albeit more pricy) lifetime pro?

I like this app a lot so far, and enjoyed their Kana app a lot as well. SRS is certainly the most effective way of learning most things and Kanji is certainly no exception.
My only wish is for a lifetime subscription, at least for us early adopters. I’m generally not a fan of subscription software especially when there are plenty of SRS alternatives at a fixed price and even free (such as Anki, which is both depending on if you use the mobile app or desktop). While I like that this is optimized specifically for Kanji, it’s not, to my knowledge, providing any online functionality that merits a perpetual maintenance fee. So I really like the quizzes, the dictionary is a bit lacking in search features but is functional, and the app is pretty helpful sometimes. Unfortunately there are many things that need polishing. The voices are very robotic and hard to understand, and the UI isn’t very friendly, at least as of now (it took me 10 minutes to find the vocab quizzes which are, as far as I know, the main piece of this app. There may still be more features I have yet to find). However, considering that this app is very new, I think it has a lot of potential to be one of the best, and that’s why I give it 4 stars.Show lessTbro1163
