  • A Better Whoop

I rarely write reviews, but after using this app for 2+ years as a CrossFit and endurance athlete, I had to give the developer proper acclaim. Not only does this app turn your Apple Watch into a device with all the important outputs and data as Whoop or Aura, it does it for the fraction of the subscription cost. And, you still have an Apple Watch that does all the things you would want a smart watch to do. But the thing that most impresses me and made me finally stop to write a review is how active the developer is in continually pushing out updates that add significant new functionality and improve the UI for no added cost. Several times a year we seem to get a major update that almost makes it feel like a whole new fitness tracker environment. This is a great product period for anyone serious about training who owns an AW.

  • Genius app with amazing watch complications

This app is a must! I’ve used it to accurately track my level of recovery. It even has a stress score. The Apple Watch complications are fantastic! Excellent work and the price is reasonable for the year.
  • Constantly Improving

This app has improved so much in the last 12 months, and was already incredibly useful to begin with.

Constant improvements and a responsive developer make this an essential app to make sense of your workouts and health data.
  • Just what Apple Watch fitness tracking was missing

Having used both an Apple Watch and a Garmin Fenix 7, one of the major positives with the Garmin is the on-watch and on-phone recovery and sleep metrics. Apple health just doesn’t dive as deep, which is fine, but for something a bit more targetable and realistic than the daily rings, this pulls iOS right back into the mix. Loving it so far, will be recommending to anyone who uses their Apple Watch for training

  • Loving this so far

Had this for a few weeks and loving it so far. Actually really impressed. Had Whoop but it’s so expensive to tell me what I already know from my Apple Watch. I’d keep it but like everyone else I have little money spare. I feel Athlytic has more metrics compared to Whoop as well. This app is actually affordable too and I see regular updates to keep the app in tip-top condition! Regular updates is a selling point for me. I like to know that the developer(s) are working to keep it running and make it better each year. Keep up the good work.

  • Awesome.

Athlytic has the metrics dialed right in. I’m currently ramping up my training regimen in time for summer and have been using it to help “coach” me on how hard or easy to push myself on a 5-day-on, 2-day-off exercise regimen. Every day where I feel well-rested and ready to hit the gym or track, the app reflects that and recommends I train that day, and even gives suggestions on which activities I could do to help reach the exertion level it’s looking for, and every day I’ve felt underslept or recovering from the day before, the app reflects that as well, and recommends I take the day off. I’ve only been using it for about 6 weeks at this point but it has quickly earned its place in my little suite of exercise apps and I already find it indispensable. 10/10 recommend.

    * Update as of November 2023: The app continues to be improved, new features added that are actually beneficial and UI elements that are well-designed. Can’t recommend this app enough for any athlete, especially if you have an Apple Watch, as it “unlocks” some truly useful functions of the watch that Apple hasn’t implemented into their own apps very well. I’ve literally used this app to help me decide when I can return to work after being sick because it has such accurate readings of my respiratory rate, heart rate variable, resting heart rate, and wrist temperature. Please download and support the developer. S+ Rank app.

  • Great but…

I use this app every single day to check my sleep. It’s pretty much bang on everytime! And gives me some great info I don’t regret purchasing it at all. The only thing I’m unsure about is the stress info. Reason being is I purchased the stress monitor app and that gives me different results. I’m not going to mark this app down for that because I don’t use the stress monitor on it but still, I don’t know if it’s correct. This app tells me I’m not stressed and the stress monitor app tells me I am so which to believe? 🧐 apart from that this is a very good app and I’d buy it again if I lost it

  • The ONLY actionable health metrics insight

This tool has changed my life. Its ability to estimate recovery, exertion, energy….all as a wholistic picture with an actionable advice has moved my training to a new level. I’m 47 and can testify that overtraining is the problem number one when it comes to results. This tool will help you prevent it if you use it smartly. Use a nutrition tracker in conjunction to get a caloric shortage/overage estimates. It will also you train you to use “Breathe” regularly to get your HRV numbers updated. That in itself will promote recovery. Most importantly, follow its advice on rest, additional workouts, etc. if you always are within it’s recommended ranges, you will see how great you’ll feel. Much gratitude to the singular developer who is working on this tool.

  • Gimme all the stats!

I thought I wanted an Oura Ring but this app gives me everything I need! I now know how to love more in synch and understand why my body is tired some days and others not. If you are looking to optimise your health and training, go no further.
  • New Apple Widgets worse

New designed apple widget on the Apple Watch is terrible. I can’t now see what my recovery % (all it shows is 4…) is at now due to the newly poorly designed Widget.

The bar the wraps around the watch face doesn’t fit and cuts off. Making it untidy and has ruined the seamless partnership that the app had with Apple Watch.

Seriously disappointing and should be fixed immediately.
