  • Dramatically increases value of Apple Watch

If you have an Apple Watch and are even modestly interested in health and fitness tracking, this app is required. It takes data captured by your Apple Watch during sleep, exercise & regular life and overlays analysis, visualization, and reporting related to your exercise, sleep, and recovery. It is honestly much more robust and insightful than what Apple has designed themselves into Health/Fitness apps. This app has regular updates and what I especially appreciate is transparency on how metrics are calculated, what data was used, and what the different metrics mean. I previously used the Apple Watch and Whoop strap but this provides superior value for 1/12 the price of whoop. For less than the price of an Apple Watch band you can dramatically increase the value you get from the watch itself. Well worth the subscription.

  • Fantastic🥳

I very rarely have written reviews on apps, but I had to in this case. I signed up for the paid version last August, and since then this has become the first app I check every morning to see my recovery score, log my items from the day before, and compare with how I feel. It’s certainly modified my behaviors to try to improve my recovery and sleep performance, and the data from workouts using my Apple Watch is summarized in a fantastic and easy to understand way. My wife was hesitant at first, but now she is also obsessed with the app and uses it daily as well. The developer is responsive if you have any issues, and he’s consistently released new features and updates that have improved the overall experience. Widgets on iOS are great, and I’ve got a couple on my lock screen, and then the widget panel just off my Home Screen. I had debated Whoop for a long time, but couldn’t get past the cost of switching and the monthly membership model. In the end I decided I loved my Apple Watch and Athlytic provides me with essentially all the same information at a much more reasonable price point. I can’t praise this app and developer enough, thanks for the great experience!

  • Best of Class!

I’ve spent a long time looking for an application that will give me a comprehensive overview of my fitness and motivate me on a daily basis. This app does that and more. I don’t think there is any other application out there that even comes close. Integration with the Apple Watch is great and provides easy to read and understand metrics. Whether you’re an elite athlete or just stay fitness enthusiast, this app has it all Looking forward to continue development and especially looking for a feature to export the data in a readable PDF format.

  • Great Athletic Dashboard

This is my goto big picture app, pulls data from health in a smart way and enriches it. Great analytics / metrics that have simple one glance explanations (like a legend or range explaination… good or excellent). This app has very nice summaries overall for the day week etc, and evaluations of each workout. For those interested in heart-rate A workout has max average heartrate with nice plots. Also recovery beats per minute post workout, as well as how to interpret it… for you specifically (age etc). Reminds me of Whoop in some ways but richer graphs and metrics… and whoop has a pretty great app so that is saying alot. I highly recommend !!

  • Essential APP

As a high-performance athlete, data is key to being at optimal performance levels. I definitely recommend this application to anyone looking for insights on their body’s recovery patterns, along with other important data. only reason I am not giving it a five star review is because there is no support for athletes with disabilities, i.e. wheelchair users like myself. hopefully that will come in the future…nudge nudge.

  • Amazing data

I have been using Whoop for about 2 years when I found this app. I’ve worn my Apple Watch and the Whoop together for almost 4 months now and I am really loving the Athlytic app. It gives me tons of data (I’m a data nerd) and it’s a fraction of the price. Don’t get me wrong Whoop is great and has lots of benefits but I find myself relying on the Athlytic data more and more. Great product with amazing customer service!!

  • Had high hopes but it’s too glitchy

I was hoping this app would be a cheap alternative to a whoop strap and get the most out of the Apple Watch data. Unfortunately after 4 weeks of use I’ve not had any consistent data.
Everyday I get the same “67% ready to train” no matter if I’ve rested the day before or done a hard workout. My cardio score which I presume is vo2 max changes daily, it can be anywhere from 40 to 59? My heart rate recovery is poor, at best I get a score off 3? (My ftp is 320)
Some workouts don’t load properly, today an hour workout on zwift showing a 1000 calories burned only shows up as a 10 minute workout.
It might be down to Strava or apple health?
The Apple Watch app and iPhone always show different data which is confusing.
I don’t trust what the app is telling me.
Hopefully it will improve with updates but for now it’s 2 stars.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your review but Zwift and Strava have well documented issues syncing to Apple Health if you Google around, however there are some work arounds I would be happy to go over with you if you can shoot me an email at athlytic@gmail.com. Your Recovery being the same is also not a common issue and again I would be happy to troubleshoot if you can email me. Once fixed, please consider revising your review. Thanks! Gary
  • Looking for Whoop-like Metrics? This is it.

Really a great app for health metrics or Whoop-like scores. I’ve had Whoop for a long time but the pricing is getting out of hand. I’ve been testing Athlytic for some time now with the Apple Watch Ultra and have to say it comes REALLY close to providing the same type of information Whoop does at a really affordable price. $29/year vs $30/month is a pretty significant savings. I’d like to see a little more customizable tags for Athlytic or at least tags added I actually use - but new features seem to be added by the developer. I have another 6 months with Whoop and I’m comparing the two almost daily. Really hoping to switch to JUST Athlytic in the end.

  • Very Very good

No need for Whoop ! this is an excellent Application that I use in conjunction with my Apple Watch Ultra , like all Apps of this type it’s only as good as the information it receives and I’ve found the wrist based Heart Rate Monitor on the Ultra the best I’ve personally come across so far, anyway back to the application, the information I use is Recovery , Exertion and Calories Burnt , my indoor cycling workouts are based on time available and Recovery Score from the app , Red = Day off or light workout , Yellow = achievable moderate workout, Green = Smash it ! this seems to be working well so far, I would give this app a 5 star review if it had a Real Time Exertion counter that you could watch during exercise to stop you exceeding the prescription…. Good app I’d give it a go.

  • Awesome.

Athlytic has the metrics dialed right in. I’m currently ramping up my training regimen in time for summer and have been using it to help “coach” me on how hard or easy to push myself on a 5-day-on, 2-day-off exercise regimen. Every day where I feel well-rested and ready to hit the gym or track, the app reflects that and recommends I train that day, and even gives suggestions on which activities I could do to help reach the exertion level it’s looking for, and every day I’ve felt underslept or recovering from the day before, the app reflects that as well, and recommends I take the day off. I’ve only been using it for about 6 weeks at this point but it has quickly earned its place in my little suite of exercise apps and I already find it indispensable. 10/10 recommend.
