  • Good Idea, Needs Work

Me and my 57-year old mother have been using this device for years and I have given up on this app a long time ago. For the elderly and disabled people who use this product, it is very frustrating - for a company like this one, accessibility should be your FIRST concern. This app should work with every device, even outdated and cellular devices, and every piece of text on the screen should be read aloud for those of which who are visually
impaired (myself included). I use hearing aids, and when I opened the app, it caused interference with them - a huge, high-pitched whine that made it difficult to concentrate.
The colors of the app also caused a bit of eye-strain, which - if you are using this app when you have a migraine attack, which is its purpose - can cause nausea, further headache, strain, and even seizures in severe cases.
Nobody wants to be told they are wrong when they are struggling, which is why I think the general interface of the app needs to be more friendly and workable for those of which who are disabled and chronically ill; aka, those who struggle the most with migraines.
In general, it’s a good idea, and a good device, the app just needs considerable attention.

  • Inconsistent and confusing!

The app could have been so helpful but it is terrible! It does not automatically connect to the device (needs to be set up each time the device is used). It does not end sessions but just leaves them running for hours even though the device is in its case. It often won’t let me see the level of stimulation. It does not log automatically. It does not allow one to stop or start a session.
If I could give this app a “0” I would. It has actually caused more headaches!

Hi. I would like to try to answer some of your concerns. The device and app must be paired each time to ensure connection and security of your information. Your migraine log may continue running after your CEFALY session is complete, so that you can remember to record your migraine. At this time, the app allows users to see their CEFALY treatments in real time. Please reach out with any concerns about function and set up a free CEFALY Coaching session on our website.
  • Great device. Lousy app.

I thought the app would be a dynamic piece of software that allows you to EASILY collect data about one’s migraines. Not so. The app is confusing and temperamental. Control over the device is limited to seeing the intensity setting, which is nice but there could be so much more. Also, the big button to purchase a device is pretty cheesy. This feels like a not ready for prime time app.

The Cefaly device on the other hand is fantastic. The Cefaly device is one of the very very few things that consistently works on my migraines. Very happy with it.

  • Application Doesn’t Do Cefaly Device Justice!

I tried very hard to give this app a chance. And I think I understand what the developers were trying to accomplish when they originally wrote this code.

But someone, somewhere must realize that a person suffering from a migraine DOES NOT want to flip thru screens and attempt to remember what caused that specific migraine. You have created an over complicated app thinking it will help the wearer. You are very mistaken.

Take it from someone who uses his Cefaly on a daily basis, multiple times each day. (1) Update your app so the Cefaly Pin # can be stored on mobile devices. (2) Create a setting/category that allows the user to enter 1 set of standard triggers as a baseline. This truly creates a “press and relief” function. If other factors arise, then they can added afterwards.

I am solid believer in the Cefaly product. I cannot function throughout the day without it. This app, is a different story.

  • Was any testing done before release?

After a lifetime of intractable migraine, I finally saved up for a Cefaly just after the new Bluetooth connected version was released. I’d tried the app on its own previously with no luck but assumed they’d worked out the worst of the bugs to go along with the new device…apparently not.

*actually tracking a migraine is practically impossible. if you use the acute treatment more than once during the same episode, the tracker resets. I’m on at least my second multi-day migraine since getting my Cefaly/downloading Cece and have yet to successfully log an attack.
*the device must be reconnected pretty much every time you use the Cece app, including having to remember the pin from the back of the device (or stop a session to check)
*if the device is not actively connected, any active attack log disappears at least temporarily

The concept here, especially with the new connected device, is great but, much like with the Cefaly itself, there are way too many bugs for it to reach its potential. For the cost of the unit, it’s incredibly disappointing.

  • App won’t stay open

Got the new enhanced model of CEFALY to use with this app. The app flashes open and then immediately shuts down. I’ve tried uninstalling, restarting my iPhone, and reinstalling the app several times. Very disappointed that I can’t use the app with the new device as advertised.
  • Needs Improvement

Have to sync the device every single time you want to use it with the app. If you start a session you have to pretty much stay on this app. Because if you go to another app, even without closing the Cece app, the Cece app will get stuck in a load screen so you have to force close and reopen, losing the connection and the auto tracking capability of whatever session you were in the middle of. Frustrating.

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. First, I am glad to hear you love our CEFALY device and use it frequently! Secondly, I would like to extend an invite to speak with one of our CEFALY Coaches about the app functions such as logging migraines, recording treatments, and viewing trends. The connection between the device and app should remain for the entirety of your CEFALY treatment. If your phone falls alseep during treatment, I would recommend accessing the graph again from the home page of the app, by swiping your screen to the home page, then pressing the pulsating "CEFALY" button. We recommend writing your PIN on a sticky note in your storage case, or in your user manual if it disconnects accidentally. Reach out with any other Qs. Thanks!
  • Doesn’t work on iPhone 8

I purchased the Cefaly Connected but can’t use the app. It doesn’t allow access using my username/password. Also, I attempted to complete the questionnaire and couldn’t finish because the enter button is below the screen and won’t page down. Very frustrating.
  • So many issues with this app and new Cefaly won’t connect

I can’t get past the 18 year old confirmation checkbox to enter the app on my iPad. The check wont check and the words are over the edge of the screen. On my android phone I can’t get the app to acknowledge the Bluetooth connection even though Cefaly beeps and is solid blue confirming the connection. The app never confirmed it so I am dead in the water

  • Doesn’t work

As far as I can tell it does not automatically log anything and I have to connect the machine every time I open it.
