Love this app

For the last three years I’ve just been winging it when it comes to weight lifting, and so far it has worked. I feel much better and have noticed my strength improving… but I wanted something structured to follow where I could show up to the gym and know exactly what I was doing instead of just making it up on the spot. Plus I was ready to actually start seeing results and not just build, but burn at the same time. And that’s what this does! It’s easy to use, simple to follow along, and I am deaddddd at the end of each workout. So excited to see where I am at the end of this 12 weeks and continue on from there

My absolute favorite workout app!

I have had The Burn App by Cara Loren for a little over a year and it has truly been a game changer for me. I started my fitness journey about 6 months prior to downloading Burn, and I had been stuck at a plateau, but that changed when I joined! I finally started to see and feel real results, and have continued to see results ever since. I think I’ve tried all of the in home programs (except the pregnancy one) and I can’t even pick a favorite! I also love doing the challenges they run-I love having the extra motivation to push harder. I have not only lost body fat and inches all over, but I have gotten much stronger and significantly improved my form. The video loops of each exercise are SO helpful, and I love that Burn allows you to track weight and reps and watch the levels go up! I feel so much stronger and more capable than I think I ever have in my life- and I have so much energy, which all adds up to being a better mama for my kids. That’s all I ever wanted when I began this journey, to be a healthier mom for my kids, and Burn has definitely given me that and more!

App is okay but workouts are GOLD!

So as someone looking to feel better in my body, I love this app! I’ve worked out on and off for years but never felt like I knew what I was doing and only ever saw minimal results. These workouts have quite literally, changed the game for me. Only a few weeks in and I can see noticeable changes in my body which helps to keep me motivated!
However, the app side does leave some to be desired. I wish I could see a monthly and daily overview of my workouts, showing level changes, tracking progress, etc. I’ll keep using but not bc the app is great, but because the workouts are!

Just a quick tip: you can see your level changes and progress for each exercise within the app. Look to the right of your circuit number for the history icon. Tap it to view all your weight, rep, and level history by date! Also, great suggestion on a workout overview. We have an update coming soon that will let you preview each workout and program. Stay tuned for the launch date!

Good, not Great

I feel like they should have someone do an audit of the programs. There’s a lot of missing things / clarifications needed on some exercises (ie. Reps total or reps / side. Sometimes clear sometimes not, sometimes altogether missing reps). It glitches for me during the cooldown exercise EVERY TIME. I have to close the app and reopen and then my time has to be restarted.

The timer for exercises is inconsistent. Do a countdown not a stopwatch in my opinion.

It would be extremely helpful to be able to see the exercises for the day before hand. Know if I need to get heavier weights, have a bench even if it isn’t listed at the beginning of the workout etc. also, an approximate time to complete. I have daycare at the gym for a certain amount of time or I’m trying to schedule it in with kids and work and sometimes the workout takes me 30-45 minutes to complete and other times upwards of two hours. Just want to know what I’m getting myself into. Also, I had lower back issues postpartum and would have to modify some exercises as I went which ate into my workout time so seeing them beforehand would help to set yourself up prior.

Also, I wish it told you somewhere what week you are on of the specific program you’re in. I have a horrible memory and have no indication of where I’m at weeks wise in the program. Based on reviews I’ll probably try out the SWEAT app when I’m done with this program.

Can’t get it to work

It’s extremely glitchy and I can’t even get past the first screen with height weight? Too bad as I was excited to try it! Just freezes and won’t let me enter anything or move past the first screen

Honest Review

I’ve tried a lot of different fitness apps and so far I am really liking this one! I love the videos that show the moves and the ability to count how much weight and reps you have done. There are times that I am using more weight than is given as an option so I wish there was a way to put in a note about that. I also wish I could see an overview of all the workout moves and circuits before I start. Maybe there is a way to do that and I just haven’t figured it out! My favorite are the short add on videos. I have been trying to add on core or other things when I do my only cardio days. Overall I’m happy!

There most definitely is a way see heavier weights through leveling up on that exercise! We also just released our newest update which includes the other features you were hoping for! Cara is not certified?

I got a free trial just out of curiosity a couple months ago. I thought it was fine, the app seemed easy to maneuver and I tried the full body toner and it was fine. I didn’t like having to keep my phone up the whole time at the gym because it drained battery, but once I got more used to the workout I could turn it off. But I feel a little concerned that she is not certified? Some of the workouts seemed kind of lazily planned, there are not moves in all planes of motion, etc. I don’t think “Cara saw her own results” is enough justification to design something like this. Most other comparable apps are from people who are certified personal trainers so I feel better switching over to those if I ever want to do something like this again…

While Cara is not currently certified, she has been in the fitness industry for more than a decade. Her results came from working with a certified personal trainer and through daily consistent workouts. She blends her former exercises from her personal trainer with other tried and true favorites!

This app got my excited about fitness again!

I absolutely love the Burn app! For a long time, I was feeling so bored at the gym and lacked the motivation to really push myself. With the Burn app, I got excited about working out again. Each workout really pushes me, and I feel so accomplished when I leave the gym. I’ve only been using the app for a month or two, but I can already feel a difference in my body and attitude towards the gym. It’s helped me be a lot more consistent.
There are a few minor things about the app that I would love to see improved or updated. For example, when you’re listening to music while the app is open and you lock your phone, the music automatically stops playing. It would also be nice to see a full list of the exercises before the workout so I can check in and see how many exercises I have left/what equipment I’ll need next. I’d also like if you could adjust the number of days per week that you work out, right now 6 days is the default.

Post partum

I’m loving this app! I just had my little babe 2 months ago and I couldn’t workout the whole pregnancy due to health issues. It’s been hard getting back to it and the burn is real but I am loving the workouts! I feel like I can be efficient and it allows me to do them at home while I’m at home with my son. Can’t wait to see the progress this next year!
