same day update - i rated 5 stars initially because it seemed to be fixed. a couple hours later, everything i tap displays what looks like a debug screen that says “Homemedics drift 2976” again, this is the same issue that happened over a year ago. and restarting the app does not help 😔
original review - after possibly a year of not using it when the app stopped being able to connect to it, i stumbled on the app v1.0.8 update, updated the firmware with it, and it’s working again!! here’s hoping it works for good this time 😬 thanks devs for fixing it
Each are connected to a different phone. 2 work well. The third one just doesn’t seem to work no matter what phone it’s connected to. Unfortunately, I threw away the box. It worked at first. And then stopped and I haven’t been able to get it to work. So that’s why it doesn’t get 5 stars. I’m out over 300 for something that’s defective far too soon.
I’ve tried unplugging it and going back to factory settings with no luck.
Another purchase going to the veterans. Maybe someone else can figure it out and enjoy it.
I have had my sand table for a while now and I do love it! I just really wish they updated new designs to the table more often as I have been through almost all of them already. If there were new designs being added every once in a while, it would make the experience so much more enjoyable!
I purchased my Drift during their Black Friday deals and thought I was going to love it. Turns out I should have saved my money or bought another brand. It rarely finishes a design and when it does, some look nothing like the image it’s supposed to be. No updates on the app, there’s options for celebrating 2022 and 2023, phenomenal! However, it is 2024 now. There’s far too many bugs and issues to name. Wish I would have checked reviews before purchasing.
I just received the Drift device, and after spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to set it up (no instructions inside & website had no instructions), finally found the setup instructions on the App. I successfully downloaded the App onto my iphone and have had a lot of fun watching the designs being created on the drift device! But, I cannot get it to stop at the end of each pattern using the “stop at end of pattern” button on the App. Secondly, I have tried to get the App on my wife’s iphone to recognize the Drift device numerous ways & times without success. I apparently have the most up to date version of the App (9 months old), but it needs a major improvement.
The 21” table is GORGEOUS! It works great and is mesmerizing. The app is AWEFUL! There are some awesome patterns but here comes 2024 and NO NEW PATTERNS for New Years Eve. Someone in design missed the boat. Big time. How hard is it to push out an update with one more design?
The app scheduling features are terrible. It does go off and on when scheduled but there’s no way to pause between designs in a playlist. Should be like 15 minutes, 30 minutes or when prompted, etc.
Also being able to import my own designs is important.
HoMedics is a huge company. This is an awesome product. Development money should be available to create the app it deserves.

With newer devices on the market that cost nearly one quarter of these devices, this is without a doubt overdue for a major overhaul. I’m almost to the point that I’m regretting the purchase entirely, and I haven’t even owned it for 6 months.
The app is slow, half the photos of the patterns don’t load, and at the time of writing this review the app hasn’t even updated in over 9 months.
All of the features don’t even work - no matter how times I reset it and choose the setting for it to pause between patterns, it won’t do it. For over $400 I absolutely expected more, and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
I have both the 21" and 16" models. I have thoroughly enjoyed them in my office and home. Unfortunately, there hasn't been an update to the app for a bit, while I see HoMedics has come out with a whole new app for the 11" model. Please don't forget that those of us who have purchased and love your products need updates, new patterns, and new capabilities, too.
My playlists no longer stop between patterns. It hasn't worked for quite some time now, requiring me to manually start every pattern, if I want to see the finished product. It's frustrating, and I have spent an awful lot of time with support in the past to try to address this, but no fix has ever been provided. I was optimistic when I saw that an updated app was on the market, only to find that it didn't apply to the products I own. Please update the Drift app for the 21" and 16" Drifts.
It’s 2023 about to be 2024, we need more designs. The app has not been updated in such a long time, can you please add more designs?? I love this app and the designs but we need more. Or better yet, please allow the ability to upload designs so we can make our own! That would be amazing !
More sandscapes are desperately needed, as well as the possibility to design your own?
There are some cool things about this product, but there has been little change with the app or any additions to the pattern library
