Disappointed

Very slow Once photo selected, touch done & nothing happens
No obvious mention of subscription on the App Store page, but once is finally working, it tells you it has identified the insect, but will not tell you what it is until you subscribe
Have deleted app

Response from developer

Hello! Thanks for your feedback. What you described sounds like a weak internet connection. We also have a 4-point system that helps to understand how accurately the neural network currently understands which insect is on the screen. The more dots light up, the more accurate the recognition. We will add a tutorial to make it easier for our users to understand these mechanics.

Wonderful app!

Tried 3 other apps without good results. None of their results looked like my picture. This app nailed this insect I’d never seen before. I’m not a insect fan, but I breathed easier knowing the details.

Hello, Thanks for your feedback :)

Not accurate for paying for it

I’ve taken 3 pictures of the same bug and completely random bugs all different colors and shapes were suggested. I then took a picture of a caterpillar just to test it on something basic and it said it was a butterfly and didn’t even have a picture of caterpillars unless you scroll down to the bottom and it even had a picture of one’s mouth making it look grotesque like it’s some kind of threat. Idk I’d keep looking…

Awesome

I found a weird little bug in my bed and thought it was a bes bug and started freaking out. The expert was very kind and took only a couple of days to notify me and let me know it was not.

USELESS

I have just moved and it is currently 3:10 in the morning and there are bugs that I don’t know what in my room and I just wanted to know what they were!! I don’t want to pay 100 dollars for one bug!! Worst app

2 Fails during 5 minutes of free trial.

I deleted the app a few minutes after downloading. I attempted to identify a spider first and then a termite. With the spider, the app gave me several possibilities that were obviously wrong. However, with the termite the app gave me several species of wasps and bees and nothing even close to an ant or termite. Sorry, not worth the space it consumed on my phone.

Not able to try before asking for $$$

I get it you need to make money for your efforts but difficult to work through the screens to pay for subscription. Also I am going to identify one or two bugs a year. Is there a skimmed down version for people trying to identify an invasive insect.

pay only

you download it and then there is no way to use it without paying. stupid.

You basically have to pay or scramble to cancel

I down loaded the app after checking to see if there was a free trial… Turns out it identifies insects from photos but then sells you a subscription if you want to see the associated info. Am deleting and checking to make sure I’m not billed for the very short “free trial” I didn’t want to be involved with.

Trick charge and didn’t honor refund

There is a one week free trial, which I attempted to sign up, but I changed from annual to monthly and purchased a monthly subscription at the last moment, not realizing the free trial disappeared.
I requested a refund and it was denied, and then I appealed and it was denied.
I feel like this was a trick payment because the free trial literally disappeared as I was clicking to authorize payment. Btw the app didn’t even work for me, unable to identify a beetle easily identified by a different app.
If they are not going to support a refund on an accidental purchase, there are better apps you can go to.
