I appreciate this app
I actually do like this app. No it’s not perfect but it is extremely helpful. I have had success finding items I am looking for. I enjoy the bidding process.
If there were changes I would say that it needs to be able to go landscape so it is usable on the ipad. It is a pain to have to take my ipad off the keyboard and look at items. Next I would give the ability to search using key words and excluding words. I would also give the ability to push notifications when and item under the personal shopper search is available. Lastly I would have it take you to the last item viewed in a certain search otherwise you have to scroll all the way through what you have already reviewed.

Needs needs a professional to fix
I, like so many others, love all of the items that Goodwill list on this site. However, it looks like it was written by someone who took a single programming course in high school. My main frustration is if I want to search for something, i.e., handblown glass, but I don’t want “bubble”, I can’t eliminate a word. Or if I want red OR ruby color glass, I can’t do that. I have to search for red and then start a new search for ruby. So where I should be able to save three searches, I have 19 saved searches. Also, it won’t automatically display the shipping cost. OK, I’ll give you that I need to activate it, but if I hit the shipping tab and my address defaults to it, common sense should dictate that I would like the estimated shipping cost. And it won’t do landscape. But one last thing that I would love… Remember my credit card number! I get that my card needs to go to individual stores. But there’s no reason I need to put in every single digit of my credit card information every single time and I’m buying something on the site3 to 4 days.

Fix your app.
I got this app because I often visit goodwills and other thrift stores and I was hoping to use it like eBay or something like that, its very different from that. I’ve had the app for a while and its functionality is just awful. I have it set to tell me when im outbid or a items ending soon, does it tell me? No. I’ve tried everything possible to get it to work and it never does. The bidding on this app is almost worse. It’s time left only updates if you manually click it, as someone who always bids last couple of seconds this makes it very hard and frustrating. Ive bid on multiple items but then it says the times gone already and i lost when it still counted me as bidding. If I could add literally anything to this app it would be a actual timer. Or at least working notifications, with all the money goodwill makes they can add those simple things, but will they? No. The whole app is very hard to use and its rare you actually win auctions here. Goodwill please go and hire some more app developers to fix this mess of a shopping website.

I love this but..
I love this app but I struggle to use it anymore. There is a handling fee, a shipping fee that is based on weight. Then are blatant enough to show that a 2 lb item is being shipped at a 7 lb price. I was told it's probably the size of the box, except it can't be the size of the box, once it was shoes in their own box. My stuff is already expensive: much higher than the actual weight because I have to ship a lot of stuff to Alaska. And THEN they ask for a donation to round up toyr change. Those prices are wild. I am struggling to end post. I hope they will reconsider since we are some of these details. 💯

Probably pays their app designer minimum wage
This app is completely terrible and actually sad. It’s really sad that a company that gets their stuff for free and makes about a billion revenue per year can’t afford a decent app developer! They are probably just getting paid $15 an hour, so maybe that’s why. I was about to bid on something and with 20 seconds left, as I placed my bid, the app just crashes. So now I won’t be getting that pink coach purse I guess. Also the search bar is extremely sensitive and you have search something very broad to find what you’re looking for, if you type in anything slightly specific, it will show no results. Also some of the people they hire to take the pictures of the items, need to be fired immediately. They don’t know how to take straight pictures of the important things such as the brand or size tag on the things. Please get yourself together goodwill and get some better corporates that aren’t Middle Aged white men who know nothing about making things look professional.

Can’t even sign in anymore
The app has always been clunky as others have said however the last 3 months or so I haven’t even been able to sign in. The app crashes every time I try. I’ve updated it, deleted and reinstalled it and nothing helps. It’s honestly less clunky to just use a browser than the app. Not to mention the prices of many items and the shipping are quite high considering the company acquires everything for free. It’s a great concept but you would think with all that money they funnel in that they could pay a bit more attention to the app.

Not Bad- But not Great
Writing a review as the “most helpful” was nearly 2 years ago and more of the other applications seem to reflect the individual store instead of the app. I’ve ordered about 5 times from here in the past three months and on every single order I was delivered to within two weeks. From buying to paying the application does provide a streamlined experience to bidding.
The reason for not being 5 stars is as other noted; the shipping can be costly. HOWEVER, there is a shipping calculator in the details of the item that will break down how much it will be before bidding.
One general rule of thumb I follow is filter within your state to keep costs to a minimum. I am in California and for the orders the most I’ve paid was $15 but this was due to a bigger than average Nespresso (At a very good Deal).
From here shipping (In my state) goes via UPS and is fairly quickly.
Overall the app itself is pretty good, shipping is high but this is largely due to people not actually using the tools and calculators provided.

Goodwill is a “No-expense all profit”Non-profit
I grew up going to Goodwill since I was a kid. We couldn’t afford new clothes, so my mom would take us there and we would find good stuff along the way. People there enjoyed their jobs and it seemed something good was going on.
Today Goodwill over charges for donated items; $10 for a stained tee, $50 for a pair of shoes, and now they have an auction where items go beyond their initial shelf value. You go into a Goodwill and there is no morale, no one looks happy, and they still ask for donations. Sorry I refuse to thing that Goodwill from the top down is genuinely leading with intention to make a difference in their employee lives. Take a page out of Trader Joe’s or Costcos book.

Please Save Estimated Shipping Cost
It’s been a while since I’ve used the Goodwill app largely due to the clunky experience, however I recently downloaded the upgraded app and I LOVE the new user interface! This is a HUGE improvement from the previous app. My only ask/request is for the app to save and display calculated shipping cost based on the last shipping address entered. It’s redundant to keep clicking “Get Estimate” each time to check the shipping cost for all saved items. If I click into “My Favorites”, it would be great to see all my favorited items along with the most recent bid price and estimated shipping cost displayed without having to click into each item to view/calculate shipping cost.
Thank you and great job!!
