  • Least reliable smart app I’ve used

    1. This has disconnected consistently since day one. Sadly rubbish coding. From update to update, regular errors in the app.

    2. You are required to register, which also has its flaws. You can’t just connect your β€œsmart” device to the app. Not only do you have to re-register it every time it updates, the system itself fails at registering regularly.

    3. It has stopped supporting certain β€œsmart” devices. I purchase the smart Air Conditioner unit fully due to the β€œsmart” capabilities, so that I could cool my place before arriving home. Frigidaire has chosen to stop supporting their own devices in the new update, so now my β€œsmart” AC operates the same as it would have if I’d bought it in 1994, defeating the entire purpose of my purchase.

    4. Customer support is astonishing. Don’t even try to contact this company. They don’t even deserve a single star. When the app fails to register your device, it automatically instructs you to click a button to call support and gives you a reference number. When you call support they say β€œthat’s not part of what we do”. It seems two different companies are managing the app side and the physical product side and are totally unrelated - hence the lack of reliability/stability.

  • Scheduler/tasks does NOT work anymore

    Our unit is not able to work off the task/scheduler. It is making our experience very frustrating and we found the older versions worked better. This new version ruined my scheduler and now my ac won’t go on or off when we set the schedule. I have the latest version of the app and it still does NOT work.

  • Ac will not start using a task.

    About 2 weeks ago the ac stopped turning on based on the task. It had been working fine for weeks before that. I reset the unit by pressing wifi button for 10 seconds, unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, plugging it back in, clicking the reset button for 15 seconds then set the task time to turn on but it would not turn on when the time was reached. I am able to see the ac in the app and turn it on manually via the app. It just seems to ignore the task. Also after turning unit off and on and leaving app, whenI go back in it says ”Unavailable”. Once I reset it, It lets me see unit again.

  • I Am So Sick Of Updates (New: My update to the update)

    As mentioned in my previous review, at the bottom, I was going to try out using an Alexa routine to control my air conditioner. IT WORKS! The only issue I had is with fan speed on cool. It insists on using Auto. From what I can tell this could allow more timing options as well. It sees it as a thermostat so keep that in mind. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Since the update my air conditioner schedules no longer work. Yes, WiFi is connected as I can use the App to manipulate my choices. However, the scheduler is not connecting to the unit … no on, no off and obviously no settings. I have unplugged the unit, I even redid the schedules still no interaction. I deleted and reinstalled the app … nada. It was working perfectly before the update. This is a 1 year old top of the line air conditioner. I have gone online to try to get some help from FAQ's but it is a maze of all different appliances to sift through. Having just gotten out of surgery it's just too much for me right now. We'll see. If it can, and the app can otherwise communicate with the air conditioner, you've got an app problem.

  • Can no longer set Tasks on Air Conditioner

    Since the latest update, I can no longer set Tasks (to schedule the AC to turn on and off at a scheduled time). This has worked fine for the last two years. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and resetting the network. I can still remotely turn the AC on and off with the app but the fact that you can schedule a time for turning it on and off makes the app much less useful.

  • Application team - pls stop making this app worse

    I am using dehumidifier and app for last 2 years, each update makes this app worse and worse - from user experience, performance, features, etc
    After last update can’t open app and connect to appliance

  • My AC experienced

    The Ac is working good the app is ok but, my best experience with the customer service person name Cathy she goes above and beyond and when I say above and beyond I really mean it. I am not a tech person so, I could not get the AC to connect for nothing. So I got Cathy and she call me just to see if I get the AC connected ask me to sent pictures of what I am getting and I mean days after I have called with the problem. Then from the pictures and videos she were able to tell me what I was doing wrong and finally have my AC connected and running smoothly. Cathy I lift my hat to you and I really do appreciate your help and support.

  • Shady precise location access requirement

    The app forces location usage as a hard requirement to control your air conditioner. You do not need my precise geolocation to connect to a WiFi router, you're selling this information to marketers. Nope. Already don't trust it.

    They disclose in the data privacy policy how they use "non-precise" geolocation info (they provide it to vaguely defined "service providers") yet the app totally forces PRECISE location to move forward, so it may as well fall under the even vaguer "Other Similar Network Activity information" further down, which they do sell directly to advertisers. That can and will ruin your life with robocallers and random identity theft, because who really knows who Frigidaire does business with? Avoid!

    Hi You can always turn off the location data after connecting to the appliance. We cant get around the location data permission as we are trying to find your Wi-Fi which is a location datapoint. Therefore we are upfront and tell you that we need your location. After connecting the machine you can revoke that permission from the app.
  • After updating app, my appliance is no longer supported

    This app *was* working great with my room air conditioner. But after updating the app (in June 2024), the app no longer supports my air conditioner. The displayed error on the app says, β€œThis model doesn’t work with this app.” I can’t imagine why the app developers would suddenly stop supporting a previously working appliance. This is horrible customer service.

    My advice to users of this app: if the app is currently working with your appliance, do everything you can to avoid updating the app. I suspect the day will come when an updated version of the app won’t support your appliance. Of course, Frigidaire will probably eventually force you to update the app, as they have done in the past.

    My message to Frigidaire: I bought my Frigidaire room air conditioner brand new eight years ago. It’s been a great unit: reliable and cools effectively. However, because of this horrible customer service regarding the app, the next time I buy an appliance, of any kind, rest assured I will not be buying a Frigidaire brand or any other Electrolux brand, including Westinghouse. Instead, I’ll purchase a GE, Whirlpool, Dyson, Samsung, Bosch or LG brand.
