  • Predatory and Grimy

    This app preys on people with ADHD who are trying to better themselves!!! The app itself is garbage, I got no use out of it whatsoever. When I went to cancel my subscription before my free trial ended, I couldn’t find the app under my Apple subscriptions and there’s no cancellation option within the app itself. No option on their website either. My ADHD brain started questioning if this was even a paid app. I began to think that I had maybe remembered it wrong and was possibly thinking of a different app. Because why would they make it so difficult to cancel? Well, fast forward to today and I get a notification for a $30 charge from Effecto through Apple Pay. I was so upset. And grew increasingly more upset trying to figure out how to cancel! There is no way to access your billing information or anything. I feel like this should be illegal. You have to email the company and request a cancellation - this is the only way to cancel. According to users on reddit, sometimes they still end up getting charged after cancellation! Please head these many warnings and do not download this app. Not even for the free trial. They count on our neurodivergent brains to fumble so that they can make a few bucks.

    Do not download this app. You can’t cancel your subscription- they are literally exploiting the people they claim to be helping… Absolute horror show scam

  • Not useful, deleted and then charged

    I didn't find the app at all useful and then on top they charged me when it wasn't even installed on my phone! A disgrace.

    This is a scam.
    It is impossible to unsubscribe.
    You unsubscribe, it isn’t on your Apple subscription but you still get charged.
    Please look at reviews online.

    You can read the endless amount of stories on all these reviews of how they downloaded the app and were unable to delete the subscription.

    I downloaded this app over a year and a half ago and because of the name it was going under charging my card I assumed it was a financing plan through one of my health bills since having a baby. The charges were popping up underneath the name “medical score”
    Having no idea, I had a subscription to this app and not finding it anywhere in my phone- I deleted the app after a few days. I have paid $150 and fees to this company without using their app the entire time. Being a busy mom of a newborn, I did not find this out until recently and had to call and cancel. Proceeded to email customer service about the issue of paying hundreds of dollars towards an app I did not even have downloaded on my phone and didn’t even know I had a subscription for. They completely dismissed me and my efforts and sent me quotations under terms and conditions within their policy.

    This whole company is a scam. They pray on people who are too busy to spot what they are doing. It’s disgusting. Do not fall underneath their trap it’s a money pit.

  • Rip off to take advantage of people with ADHD

    Don’t go anywhere near this app. They have dodgy billing processes and you will get nasty surprise when they withdraw money from you out of nowhere and their support team will do nothing.

    They are taking advantage of the traits of those with ADHD with fine print that locks you in without you knowing.

    The app does nothing except remind you to drink water.

  • Overhyped Habit Tracker

    Saw an advertisement on Instagram for Effecto with the aim to help manage ADHD. As someone who really struggles with managing my ADHD symptoms and can’t afford ADHD coaching, I naively thought Effecto could be a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, after the ADHD quiz the “personalised plan” I was offered was not personalised at all, and was just pre-written modules that you read through. The app really is just basic modules and some meditations, and then majority of it is just an overhyped habit tracker. I bought a 3-month subscription for 24.99 NZD which I couldn’t get a refund for. Not worth it, save your money and use something else instead. This company and app are dodgy af tbh… 0.5/10

    Do not download this app!! They tell you it’s a once time purchase. I bought for $20 and now they’re taking $45 a month out of my account without permission. I tried cancelling my account, I can’t. I cannot get ahold of customer service. It’s a joke. And the app sucks anyway. Waste of money regardless.

  • Fraudulent

    I downloaded a free planner and thought that was it, but a month or so later I was charged a lot of money for the app subscription, and now I can’t find a way to cancel the subscription. How can I cancel it and get a refund? It doesn’t let me do so in Apple settings.

  • Scammy app, nothing like the ad

    They catch your attention with an app that promises a lot, and it requires you to commit to pay via PayPal (not Apple subscription).
    You can only request an account cancellation via email, and finding this information on their website is quite hard.
    They charge in advance for a whole year and will refuse to refund if you cancel immediately after the charge.
    There’s a Reddit thread dedicated to their scammy practices.
    Don’t waste your money, don’t feed the scammers.
