  • Long recording is cut

This app cuts the recording and doesn’t play the whole music in the phone, but it plays the whole recording in the computer specifically when the file is long.
  • No update in 7 months poor optimisation

Could be such a good app. Playlists feature is clunky at best and most of all you cannot sort or order tracks. Stuck to a default alphabetical order which is useless for large libraries. Such a simple change would make the app so much more user friendly
  • Barely Functional.

    1. The scan/fast forward to skip through a track doesn’t work. It advances you to the next or some following track. If I want to get to a particular segment of a song I cannot. Maddening. 2. Rudimentary EQ would be welcome. 3. When I add a track from my DS I get the whole album. 4. Search?

I like that it nicely scans and has my whole library at my fingers as I have 7-8 thousand CDs stored.

  • Practically useless now

I bought a Synology NAS on the back of the demise of Google Music. I wanted to host my own music system. This worked for a while but it’s gradually got more and more clunky. It’s now at the point where trying to play music just results in random skipping, not downloading music and just plain not working as expected.

    This is a massive shame.

So right now I have a NAS full of my music which I cannot play using the manufacturers own player software.

Time to look for another alternative…

  • Was my go to app for home music but Synology removed AAC…

Synology has removed AAC support making DS Audio useless. If you are trying to send music in AAC (which is majority of Internet radiostations) via Airplay starting with DSM 7.1 you are wasting your time, codec has been removed and stations are no longer playable via DS Audio. Synology shall give customers a choice to pay for AAC codec if they need. Just ordered QNAP will test it.

  • Essentially useless audio player.

This app remembers your spot in the track you were last listening to, but it remembers it individually for each distinct listening mode and device you use so it’s essentially useless.

Listening to music while in the car and n your way to the gym, then expect it to pick up where you left off when you go inside and put in your headphones? Nope. It remembers the last thing you listened to when you last used those headphones. And that’s if it even actually does remember your place.

Absolutely mind boggling choice (or perhaps oversight) by the developers.

I’ll give it a pity star for actually syncing to my NAS properly.

  • Features That Would Be Nice To Have

Quick thanks for fixing the accent names issue.

Would be nice to have a “By Year” under “Categories”. Would also be nice to see the DS AUDIO app available on AppleTV - DS PHOTO, DS VIDEO are already available on tvOS.
  • Big missing

In my iPad it always run a song forward. And never know where I was
  • Sometimes it works

Fine when it works but the next time you try and use it it just won’t connect to NAS drive or doesn’t see speakers or just won’t play.
Really annoying when all I want to do is play music.
