Not bad has couple items that need improvement
I have been using the xero software and app for a year. The big plus is recording receipts on the fly including a pic of the receipts and finger scan log on so no password necessary to open app. The two items that keep it from 5 stars are: Account balance showen in the app is a point in time amount, it is the balance of the last time you reconciled the account and so can be days or weeks old. It is not the current bank balance ( you can get that easier from your bank app) or the balance taking into account the outstanding checks and pending deposits ( that balance is available on the website and is what I expect to have from accounting software). The second issue is while it is great to have the built in feature to take pics of receipts and you can view the pics from your account transactions list and can associate the receipts with a customer, when creating a invoice in order to attach the photo to the invoice you first have to download from the transactions to your pc or upload to Xero files then during invoice creation select the option to up from pc.....

You need an online subscription to use this app after the free trial but overall excellent cloud accounting software, way more user friendly and better price than quickbooks online.
Unhappy customer
Absolutely useless to me. iOS 8 has changed decimal separator from "." to "," and now cents are ignored and rounded down to zero. Complete waste of time now and I pay good money for this.
Missing a lot of functionality, but good at what it does
While this app is pretty good at what it has available to it right now, I feel that it's missing a lot of functionality in order to truly operate my business remotely. And that is my goal with this app. I need to be able to run reports such as a balance sheet and profit and loss statement. I also need to be able to refresh my bank feed (such as by pulling down on the dashboard). I also should be able to print checks to a wireless printer from my iPad or iPhone. It would also be useful to be able to add pictures of receipts to transactions that have already been reconciled. Please keep developing the app, and I will increases my rating.
Update to review - 4/2/15:
For new users interested in Xero, please know there website is much more robust and developed compared to this app (and you can access the website from iOS devices). I would recommend Xero to most small business even with the limitations of the app, maybe with the exception of business who need high levels of job costing. Try it out.

Not working
Impossible to create an account. It locked me out prior to getting in.
Beautiful Accounting App
I really like the simplicity of this app. It is designed with the owner/manager in mind that is mobile but needs access to the most important information about their business. A dashboard that shows all you bank accounts and credit cards upon logging in that allows you to select an account and reconcile transactions or view activity. It also allows you to view overdue invoices which is great for a sales rep walking into a client’s office to know if they are behind.
When it comes to mobile apps, they got it right. Xero gives you the ability to do what you need to from a phone without the complexity of performing all your accounting functions. The full website is for that.

Good, but very basic
Limited functions. Good for checking bank balances and handling receivables, and great that expenses can be logged along with a photo of the receipt. As a business owner, I would like to be able to view my P&L, balance sheet and payables too.
Critical feature missing
While this app looks to have potential it quickly made it off my shopping list. Both this and its desktop counterpart are missing the critical ability to generate estimates or quotes.
Therefore it alienates the plethora of businesses who require this basic feature to generate business.
And after 3 years of requests logged on their website they have done nothing but offer an amateur workaround that takes some effort to accomplish. That tells me that this is not a company with the necessary drive to keep improving their product.
