  • Account suspended immediately after registering

    Context: I will be relocating to Japan soon, and as part of Japan’s quarantine measures, immigration officials will require me to download and update them on my health status via Line.

    Upon downloading Line and registering for the first time, my account was IMMEDIATELY suspended. The majority of features showed errors, such as adding a profile picture or viewing the sticker store. I attempted to uninstall and redownload, but upon attempting to log in I was greeted by a message saying Line verification is temporarily unavailable. Several weeks later, I emailed support, only for them to respond that my account was in fact suspended for violating their terms of service. How could this be, when the only thing I have managed to accomplish on the app is add a profile picture, the same picture that I use for services such as LinkedIn? I am at a complete loss, as customer service told me that there is nothing they can do.

    So now, I am unsure of how the Japan immigration process will unfold seeing as how I have been banned from the app they use to monitor COVID-19, despite me having done absolutely nothing! I have spent mere minutes in the app, added no one, messaged no one, and called no one. I am beyond bewildered and am incredibly disappointed in this app.

  • Deleted My Account Without Warning!

    My account was deleted by LINE without warning because my old Japanese phone number was still linked to my account, even though LINE wouldn’t let me change it to my Canadian number! I was given absolutely no warning and thought I had been hacked. I had even spent money on stickers and emojis which were deleted as well. I’ve never in my life used an app that would do that. And when I contacted customer service, they acted like this was a totally reasonable thing to do!

  • Add option of email instead of just phone number.

    I downloaded the app because all of my favourite BL series are on here, when I downloaded the app, it said I needed to sign up with a phone number, I have an iPad and I cannot get a phone number on here, you should change the options and add the option of signing up with an email or phone number because some of us don't have phone numbers. I really want to watch my BL's but I can't. Please change the options so some of us can sign up with an email and not a phone number.

  • WHAT??!!!

    Ok so, first of all Line is my favourite texting app and I’ve been using it for YEARS. I’ve had no problems with it up until like 5 minutes ago. It was working fine since I was able to chat and video call with my friends about an hour ago. I hung up and left the app and I was going back and I went to the chats place and it’s just showing me a loading circle and nothing happening. When I press anything nothing works and the app just closes itself and takes me to my Home Screen. My friend sent me a message that she is having the same problem with line. I was thinking of deleting it and reinstalling it but that would mean I lose all my texts and data on it. My friend said she restarted her phone but the problem was still there. Please fix this cuz I don’t want to lose anything.
    PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME AND PLEASE FIX THIS 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. I can’t even back up the messages since it won’t let me do anything on the app. The page is just frozen and just keeps loading. That’s all and I’m so stressed from this.

  • Hugely invasive

    So, I’m one day in on mobile, try and install the PC version only to be told that I can’t just log straight on to my line account via a pc, I have to attach an email to my phone number. BUT... here is an alternative, scan this barcode in app. That means allowing the camera (already denied once) to scan the barcode. And straight afterwards, back-to-back requests for microphone access and access to photos stored on the device. What is the app planning to do, listen to the barcode?? Store it for posterity?? As an app developer myself, I know for sure that scanning a barcode would only need camera access. The other two requirements -plus the demand to link a phone number to an email address- feel like an attempt to trick someone who just wants to scan a barcode into allowing much greater access to private information.

  • Messages won’t open

    Messages won’t open... have to turn off the “letter sealing”. What’s the point of having it on if doesn’t let you see the messages or send messages. Having it on was to put extra security... and yet there’s no way for me to verifying my account to decrypt the messages, waste of time.
  • Very good but ...

    App is better than most chat /communication apps.
    Excepting over time it bloats enormously as it stores chat history, and documents.
    Even if one deletes /resets cats inside app. The bloat remains.
    When it hits 3.5GB of storage users, the only option is delete app, reinstall and log in again to all ones friends, and chat groups. This reduces app footprint to less than 400MB.

    App needs proper internal document cleaning mechanism. T9 get rid of all the invisible files.

  • A few annoying things

    I've been using line for about a year. There's really a few things I really can't stand. There's so many stickers and there's no way I am scrolling for 60 hours to see them all - they need to categorize them better and make it easier to find the ones you want. I was looking for a set of stickers and finally just gave up even though I know it was there. Second thing is your stickers and everything else you bought needs to transfer to all your devices with just your phone number because I don't want to make an account, I'm sick of making accounts for everything, a phone number with a pin should be enough. Cause I just lost $30 worth of stuff.

    Also come on, 600 MILLION users and no way to meet new people. There are no chatrooms or groups you can join to meet new people. It’s all by invite/you have to know them already. I want the ability to meet NEW people by joining groups or chatrooms.

  • Great Messaging App

    The app is great to use to message friends and family members. They also have numerous stickers in which you can use as well. There are in app purchases but only for stickers and themes for the app. However, one thing I’d like to point out is that you cannot log out of your account, you can only delete the app and the download it again to sign into another account. Overall, I think it is a great app and I use it on a daily basis.

  • iPad version needs more features!

    For the love of god, let me manage my account with only my iPad. I don’t own a smartphone and I can currently only use basic features and I’m constantly reminded to buy a phone. Show the big screen some love!
