  • What couch?

Okay I’m back on the couch writing the review, but this couch is going to be seeing a lot less of me. Great first run, motivational and easy to follow!
  • Must subscribe with payment to use

Terrible app claiming to be free, but you can’t actually use it at all without having to sign up for a free 7 day trial WITH PAYMENT REGISTERED.
  • Really excellent program for total beginners

I have been wanting to start running for some time now and at the age of 57 I thought I’d better get started. I had been reading reviews of the various beginner programs and I was going to use the NHS app but have heard that the progression can become too much for the total beginner so I chose this one.
I really like the way you can adjust the intensity after a session if it was really too hard or too easy using the slider, fortunately I have persevered and not had too change the setting.
The first 2-3 weeks were hard but I expected it to be and the thought of running for 5 minutes seemed far far away but I am now about to start week 5 and really looking forward to running for longer.

  • It’s still good

Gives anyone a plan to get off the couch and make a change.
  • Great programme

I began this programme at 8 months postpartum, far from my fittest, I’ve never been a runner but wanted to give something a try that wouldn’t be too demanding of my time. This programme has been amazing, I’ve gone from not running what so ever to being able to run a 5k! I absolutely love the interval aspect of it and I’ve learnt slow and steady really does win the race, my overall fitness has improved, my mindset has improved, and I find I’ve got much more energy. I really like how flexible the plan is and that the plan will adapt your next run depending on how you rate the difficulty of the run you just completed. I would 100% recommend this app/ programme to anyone.

  • It’s Been a Journey! So Proud and So Thankful!

I’m 73. My running journey began about a year ago. I began with 5K Runner and became impatient. Yes, some success with Apple Watch Workouts alone but… frankly, left to my own devices… I effectively stalled-out.

Back to basics. My resolution: Do at least what 5 K Runner suggests, 3 X per week. I did that (more or less). Sometimes, I’d add extra at the end of my run / walk. Sometimes I’d have to move days for family or weather but, progressively, I stuck with it! Running 5K. All of it and, my pace, very respectable.

The app guides and encourages you just enough. On longer stretches, it marks 5 minute intervals and at just the right moments, the friendly voice rewards success and encourages you on. Silly but… needed.

Next week… 10K Runner for me. Yep, 10K. This app did the distance with me and its sister app “10K Runner” will see me across the 10 K finish in October!

Yes, I wholly recommend this app. More that that, I encourage you to stick with it. Embrace the commitment or delay as you progress but… progress. As the friendly voice on the app frequently says “You got this!”

Run with joy! I’d highly recommend adding a little salsa when you need a pick me up along the way. The best is perfect and there are no rules about adding a little dancing in the middle of a good run!!! 😀

  • Easy to use

Easy to use and gradually works you until u reach your 5K goal!
  • Works with my old Apple Watch without having to carry my phone awesome

Every other app you have to take along your phones with you going to definitely get the year subscription
  • Literally from couch to 5K

I got the app because I am participating in the Spartan Race and I used to say that I couldn’t run even to save my life!!! And here I am!! I completed today 4.9K in less than 4 weeks!! Without any pain or lesion!! 🥰
  • Needs some work

I use my Apple Watch for my run and do not want to carry my phone. The Apple Watch part of the app needs to be updated to cover “stay fit”. I will be cancelling my subscription due to this.
