No loan support, login screen is useless
So even if the app doesn't support access to your student loan account, a lot of people obviously (and rightfully) assume it would.
After trying to log in several times (did not get any hints about having to activate mobile banking in a browser) I deleted the app. A little bit of context and information in the failed login screen would go a long way.
Listen to your customers, Sallie Mae: it doesn't make sense to create an app that doesn't serve the majority of your customers... And if it doesn't, make it clearer.Show lessMaverick Niner
No Student Loan Support?!
Got an email from Sallie Mae over a month ago saying their mobile app would be supporting student loans soon... has yet to happen. Looking at the previous reviews on this app, this seems to be the number one complaint. Not sure what the difficulty is in providing this service or why it is taking so long to be established, but I'm pretty sure a deserved .5 to .75 discount on borrowers' rates would somewhat make up for the long awaited mobile app accessibility annoyance, if it ever happens.Show lessJKH wants to pay her loans off

It honestly doesn't even surprise me that I can't sign in with the Sallie Mae login that I use everyday and then when I look for help they are nowhere to be found.
These people are unbelievable... GOD FORBID I fall a day behind on one of my $1,000 monthly payments... they send a swat team to my front door, but the day I need assistance from them, their 10 thousand person team of customer service reps (that was calling in threats the day before) all of the sudden decided to take a sick day... Verify on website
App works very well. The only draw back is that you have to go online and accept the mobile banking policy and set it up. I just wish it would have told me that ahead of time. Also to the people complaining about their loans, the bank and student loans are two completely separate departments. Hence not having student loans on the banking app. Maybe you should look for a student loans app from the company.Show lessJTlK740
Pay attention
A) You have to ENROLL in mobile banking online FIRST before the app will work, that is why you are unable to login.
B) This app is for their BANKING, not student loans. They make it very clear. I realize its silly of them not to have to have a student loan app but don't take it out on the banking app, its not its fault!
The app is fine, does the basics. I think they could improve some things, for one being the ability to edit what transactions are, but it does enough to get by for now.Show lesschristinas11

For those complaining that it doesn't support student loans, maybe you should have been smart enough to read the description. Or just notice the name of the app is "Sallie Mae Banking" not "Sallie Mae Student Loans".

Not bad if you don't have to deal with loans
I have an account with Sallie Mae and had issues using this app until I realized that I had to enable mobile banking through the web. Once that was done, there are no problems. It's easy to deposit checks thru the app. I don't have student loans with them and since it seems that the majority of the complaints are the lack of student loan servicing feature, the negative reviews didn't apply to me.Show lessnakobear
It's not what you think!
This was a poor business choice by Sallie Mae. It was shortsighted developing an app with the Sallie Mae name that doesn't allow you to pay your student loan.
Although the app description says that this is for mobile banking, who would assume that?
I don't have a bank account with Sallie Mae; so this app in its current state isn't very useful to me. I didn't even know they offered anything but student loans. I imagine most people think of Sallie Mae as only offering student loans.Show lessDarruk
Works Great
Just have to register on Sallie Mae's website for mobile access or it gives you an error. I'm fairly certain the bad reviews are from people's inability to read. Don't let their mistakes dissuade you from downloading this app.bdg4512
Does its job
It's as simple as any other banking app I have. I would like to see the ability to transfer to and from other institutions accounts after they have been linked online. I do like that you have the option to pay bills from here though.The Krystal ship
