Excellent alternative to traditional meal tracking apps
I was really struggling with apps that show calories so I was so happy to find this one. I really enjoy being able to input information about my moods.
Would appreciate default being changed
The default setting for how much of the meal was eaten is “half” - this makes me a bit uncomfortable as I usually finish my meals. I would greatly appreciate it if this was changed.
Helping
This app is helpful, free, and based on actual data on how people recover. I initially tried this app on the recommendation of my nutritionist but quit it because it didn’t count calories and I was in a self destructive phase. It doesn’t track weight or calorie intake and it’s helped me try focus on living healthy first and then my weight second. Key word being try lol! Food is hard.
I only have two complaints. One being that the default option for how much of a meal I ate is “half” and not “all”. This is somewhat triggering for me as it makes me feel guilty when I do eat a full meal. I think it makes more sense for the default to be all and then you can edit it if you have trouble finishing the meal.
Second less important: the JPEGs of motivational quotes are so compressed, it would be funny if they weren’t illegible. Nothing worth docking a star just worth mentioning.

I love the behaviour tracking!
I have. Used the app for two weeks and love the beviour tracking. Change happens when you can find the pattern and change that.
I love the little reinforcements I earn along the way too!

Best app I’ve found to get my eating back on track
I’ve tried calorie counting and food tracking apps in the past to help encourage me to eat more but they all just ended up making me feel terrible about myself even though I would in reality only be eating about 800 calories a day. This app doesn’t count calories at all you enter what you ate or what you plan on eating and you go through struggles you had with the meal how it made you feel and coping skills to use if it happens again. I’m being more intentional about eating and about waking up early so I’m not restricting to one meal a day like I normally do. I highly recommend if you struggle with an ed to try out this app it’s helping me a lot.

This App Really Does Help
I’m currently using this app alongside CBT and this is just what the clinician has been asking us to do.
I feel more in control knowing that I can tap away on my phone with how I’m feeling when I eat.
I hadn’t been writing it down as it was too much like hard work but this is just perfect.

Recovery record
This app is wonderful. For the first time ever, I think I have a chance of recovering from my eating disorder. It was recommended to me by the charity momentum, who are also helping me. They are able to link on to Recovery record and send me guidance through the app itself.
It is so encompassing, every angle of the disorder is tackled. I just love the picture rewards that I get for monitoring my food.
I am so grateful that this app exists.

Recovery Record: Eating Disorders
I have had anorexia and exercise addiction for 46 years, and have been hospitalized twice to treat the disorders. This app, with its capacity to connect with my therapist and dietician, provides almost as much support and structure as hospitalization did. The constant positive feedback I get, every time I log a meal, turns what is generally an anxiety ridden task— into a source of encouragement. Even if I restrict or use other disordered behaviors- the app still provides encouragement and practical tools to use next time. The surveys I fill out each time I log a meal help me identify what I am feeling and why I might be struggling with the desire to use disordered behaviors. Knowing my dietician is reviewing my logs helps very much with accountability and enables her to help me if I am missing specific foods, eating less than I should be, or staying too safe by not venturing beyond the few foods that feel “safe” to me. My therapist can also check in and look for patterns in my mood or behaviors, and read the sometimes surprisingly revealing thoughts I am asked to record at the end of each meal log. I’ve never been able to be free of disordered eating outside a hospital. This app is allowing me to become more and more successful at achieving that goal.

Recovery Record
This app is free and includes so many positive ways to work on eating disorders and feeling good about yourself. It is so important to love yourself just the way you are. Believe it or not you are perfect exactly how you are. This is the only app I’ve seen that doesn’t count calories. The focus is on seeing what you’re eating so you can look for patterns and about being compassionate to yourself every step you take.

Step at a time
I can feel my relationship with food and my body softening. Without pressure. My body actually has things to tell me and I’m listening more and more each day. It’s a new way of respecting it that I didn’t know I was missing.
