  • Smog check does not work

    I have had this device for a few years. I use it mainly to check Smog readiness for my BMW. There have been bugs in the past that took time for this feature to be fixed and be accurate. Recently, I pulled it out to use this for the same reason and once gain, the smog readiness for my vehicle is no longer working (2011 BMW 335d E90). Support has acknowledged that it does not work, and still have not fixed it after 2

  • Updated OBD SCANNER

    I could not be more pleased with the customer service from Carly. I found that I needed a new, updated scanner, but couldn't find my original order number. Vicky reached out, took my information down, found my original order, and had a new one shipped in 2 days! She constantly updated me with the status of my order and even handled an address change. Best customer service I've experienced in a couple of years!

  • Not worth it

    So I purchased a year subscription as I read ‘ works on all Toyota and Lexus models’ as stated on their price list. I own a 2018 Landcruiser Prado Kakadu, and upon trying to connect the app to my vehicles OBD reader nothing happens, I get constantly asked to try connect again but still nothing. I went onto do some research and found another scan tool that actually works. Now these guys have already taken my money happily and literally after 3 days of constantly trying to get this Carly app to work I asked for a refund and they are not willing to help at all. So I’d advise to stay clear and actually do more research before you spend your hard earned money on an app that might not work. Update to the response I received…. so they are aren’t denying the fact that even though it states “works on all Toyota and Lexus models” in which case it does NOT work on my 2018 Landcruiser, they aren’t willing to refund me due to their lack of customer service and attitude towards the whole issue. Asking me to supply my ticket number is not my issue, find it yourself! I’m done with this whole drama!

    Great investment I chose to do the best reader and the best plan so I could use it on any of my family’s cars and it works great. The app can get a little confusing sometimes if u arent a very big car person cause it’s a lot of technical terms but if u can figure that part out this little device will help you out IN A LOT OF WAYS. Always thought from the adds it looked a little fake but I needed one anyways so I took the risk and it really paid off.

  • Carly app bricked my adapter

    Purchased the new app to register my new battery. After repeated attempts it kept failing. Was familiar with battery registration, I had done it with the previous Carly app I had purchased. Not only did the new app refuse to register the battery but it bricked my adapter. Lost a lot of money as a result. Would not recommend this app unless you have money to throw away. I am active in the BMW online community and am very experienced with ODB based apps. None of the other promised features worked either. Seems like a bait and switch so I don’t want others to have the same experience.

  • Great product backed by fantastic customer service

    I used the app a few back and renewed it along with purchasing the new Carly universal adapter.

    The adapter was shipped to me but got lost in the mail system. I reached to Carly with only a hope of them being able to offer some form of help it tracking it. To my utter amazement and gratitude, they shipped me a replacement adapter.

    Couldn’t have asked for any better outcome.

  • Fantastic just needs more vehicles

    Brilliant system. Connection with the new universal is much easier than the old obd unit.
    Need more vehicles supported ie Hyundai Getz
    Needs search feature for parameter list in live data
    Keep up the good work
  • 2013 Audi A4 B8

    Don’t bother if you have an A4 B8, there’s hardly any customisation for features. Very expensive and all I was able to do was a health check. Wouldn’t have bought it if I was given the options before paying. And no, there’s no way to see what you can customise before paying.

    Edit: the lite version did not work, I was not able to see the customisation options until I paid for a year subscription. You guys love your automated replies. Just like all the emails.

  • Horrific Privacy Options

    Carly costs over $80 a year and still tracks all “activity across other companies’ apps and websites”. If this were a free app I could understand the developers selling my privacy for their profit, but this app has zero reason to track my online data and I refuse to install any app that attempts to.

    Carly’s response to my above paragraph review implied they don’t sell information collected through their app (which gives them access to all of your activity across all apps you install and all websites you visit on your phone). But their privacy notice states: “We use these technologies to secure and improve the app and to be able to provide advertising.” How do you provide information to advertising agencies without selling it? You give it for free.

  • Excellent customer Service

    Just Recently my adapter stop working out of no where. I have been using Carly for about two years, excellent app if you like working on your own car. After emailing their customer support team about my adapter assuming that I was going to get the run around within minutes I heard back from their support team about getting a new adapter out to me. I highly recommend Carly because you’re not only getting a high quality device but you’re also getting the support behind it.
