Great tool but costly
I used this tool to gather diagnostic information and reset a few errors. I had to buy a Carly adapter to unlock all features and this very expensive at $100 just for the adapter, what is most disappointing is it cost $120/year on top of the cost of adapter.
Because of this I decided to test another app without the ongoing subscription cost and to buy a generic Bluetooth adapter for under $10. It may not look as pretty as Carly but it does the same job at a 1/3 of the cost without any ongoing charges.Show lessDaniel_R

Hi Daniel, thanks for your feedback. We are constantly working on the development of new features and functionalities for our product. Therefore it also implies costs for us. Also, keep in mind that the adapter includes the shipping costs to Australia + has a lifetime warranty, which other OBD adapters for sure don't have, that's why the price might go higher. Paid for the subscription on the app. When I tried linking my account it failed everytime. I paid money on my account yet the app would not sync up my account to give me the full access of what I paid for.
Naturally, contacted customer service for help. They took me in circles with basic and unhelpful suggestions. At this point I want a refund and they’re claiming my subscription is past the refund time of 24 HOURS so I am not eligible for a refund even when I can’t even get the service I paid for. Carly for BMW
Have to give this 5 stars. I live approximately 600km from the nearest BMW dealer and drive an E90 with 240,000km on the clock. I do most of my own work on the car and have used Carly since 2016 for service resets, Diagnostics (fault codes), some coding and battery registration. Their app/adapter helped me render my iDrive useless. I can’t even adjust the volume anymore. Can’t restore the backup. I read online that people use BimmerCode. So, I’ll give them a try. I sent requests to support, but they are useless. They tell you to submit your request a different way. You submit your request and they inform you your problem has been solved and your request was closed. Only they didn’t resolve anything other than you having an open ticket, which is now closed. And unresolved. I’ll see if I can be refunded. This was such a horrible experience. If you are considering using Carly, I suggest you do the opposite of what I did, and don’t.

Brought this kit and downloaded the app along with another popular coding one, must say this is so simple to use and does more than my other one. I had a slight issue with delivery and a question I needed answering and the response was swift and Alison and Bernard who I dealt with were so helpful and sorted everything out immediately, customer support really is second to none. Looks like a comprehensive app
However I have had severe problems with these kind of apps that link to a Bluetooth adapter connected to your car. So the question is, is this going to work? Because with my other devices that are similar, it takes about 100 attempts to connect to the Bluetooth device.
And then sometimes, I can’t even connect. Unfortunately in order to find out if this is going to work there is an $80 charge for the adapter and then on top of that a $60 subscription fee.
That is a little bit too steep, for now I will stick with my Innova device. Maybe I can buy a real Snap-on scanner for the cost of this thing. It would be a better use of my stimulus money.Show lessXweAponX
Great Diagnosis Tool
The Carly app paired with the OBD connector is awesome! Gives extremely detailed descriptions of any errors that you may have. I had some issues with my car and Carly helped me figure out what was going on! Saved me a ton of money by me not having to go to a shop and pay just for a diagnosis.
P.S. If you have any issues with the app or scanner, reach out to support. They replied extremely quickly and helped me resolve my issue. I spoke with Bernard from their support and he was a huge help.Show lessTdtdgutsu
Very disappointed and a ripoff!!!!
I purchased the Carly OBD adapter. It arrived yesterday. I downloaded the Carly app and paired it with the adapter. Ran a scan and then purchased the “full” version. Did a great job of taking funds from my Apple Pay account but app showed no change. Tried rebooting, .......nothing. Contacted Carly “help”, ........nothing. Very disappointed!!!!!!!

Subscription for $140 NZD per year
This is not acceptable to demand $140 NZD per year to use this app. Just to do some coding and fault codes that is a very high price per year. This should be a one off cost. Other vendors have a better price model here.mwz99

Been using Carly for at least a few years and bought prob 4 of their adaptors, since it’s now universal all the older adaptors are obsolete and the new one won’t work on my own car but that’s due to age (j1865).
I’ll often grab the Carly dongle instead of pulling out my Snap-On Solus Edge and it more often than not does what I need it to do to customers cars. I had an adaptor fail on me and was replaced within days with only a few emails back and forth which is great service too. ThanksShow lessSomeTripper
