  • Dire - embarrassment to Irish tech

Doesn’t work - truly awful technology. The team behind this - whether executives or technical - should resign immediately and work in another field
  • App used to work. Now it seemingly does not work

App is so safe you can’t even access your own money. How do we let AIB know their app has become inoperable ?
  • Mystifying login experience

The app barely works. Their 2 factor authentication doesn’t even log you into the website. It’s just an infinite ‘set up’ loop. Can’t remember your registration number? ‘No problem login to your account and you can find it there, all you need to do to log into your account is enter your registration number…’ Honestly did they even read that instruction? It’s mental

  • Terrible

Horrendously designed app with zero common sense.
I can not check at my transaction unless I have notifications on.
I can not activate them on my new IOS so only way for me to check my transactions is on a laptop or a PC.

Design super counterintuitive- please leearn from someone like Chase, Bank of America or even Wellsfargo.

  • Can’t log in

Tried deleting and upload app 3 times. Won’t let me log in. Lots of complaints in the reviews. Unfathomable why AIB don’t address this.
  • Shocking service for the fees paid

Ireland must be one of the few countries you can pay per quarter, per contactless transaction and per whatever else, and STILL get an app and a card that barely works. The app is suitable for checking balances and you can actually do loan application, but it’s intermittent at best. There is a basic lack of care (such as needing to open security messages individually to mark as read) and an overall feeling of datedness that hides behind the ostensibly modern looking UI.

Like so much in Ireland, it needs gutting and rebuilding, but no-one wants to invest the time and money to do so.

  • Broken

Their “new” multi-factor authentication is broken when trying to use a new phone.
  • Savings aplenty to be had!

After contacting AIB customer support on an AIB app problem their remedy is “switch off my phone & switch it on again”. Then, uninstall the AIB app & reinstall. Then, check notifications are switched on. Then, switch off the phone & switch it on again. “Emm I’ve really no idea” exclaimed the customer support person. “Emm leave it for a few hours & if it doesn’t fix itself then phone us (AIB) back” [when we’re closed >5pm]. So I left it & phoned them back next morning & got a different customer support person but the same fantastic ‘help’.
I’ve a suggestion for AIB senior managers - I think you could save €€€,€€€s and just print your SWITCH OFF YOUR DEVICE & SWITCH ON AGAIN ‘help’ onto some posters & put it on the side of Bus Atha Cliath (Dublin Bus Co.).

  • How to Fix Issue if Security Authentication Fails

I spoke with Amie today on web chat and they told me:

If you can’t access the old device, can you please follow the below steps to delete the app fully from your iCloud. Once this is done, please delete and reinstall the AIB Mobile app on your device. You will need to re-enrol for SCA again. Delete the app from iCloud 1. Go to Settings and tap your profile (name). 2. Tap iCloud. 3. Tap Manage Storage. On this screen, you will see your current iCloud storage available. 4. Select Backups from the list. You will see all devices that are currently using the iCloud backup storage. 5. Choose the current iPhone you are using. Hint: It will say "This iPhone." . You will see a small list of apps under Choose Data to Back Up. Tap Show All Apps. 7. Find the AIB app from the list and slide the white dot to the left so that the colour changes from green to white. 8. A window will pop up that asks "Do you want to turn off AIB backups and delete the backup data from iCloud?" Tap Turn Off & Delete. Once you have unregistered the device delete and reinstall the app on the new phone and follow the onscreen instructions

This worked for me thankfully so my app is back up and running!

  • “Security” update won’t install.

The worst bank app I have used. Can’t depend on it. Security update won’t install so I’m locked out.
