Continual password resets driving me crazy
I’ve given up on this app. I’ve had requests to reset my password come in every few days for no obvious reason - comments on the website suggest this is a common problem. It’s not worth the aggravation.
Lazy reviewers.
Sent a photo in and was rejected for lack of editorial info. Corrected that and resent only to find out it had to much noise. Both could have been mentioned in the original rejection but I guess that would be to much trouble.
Not Worth the Price
iStock has way better photos for the price. Also if you sign up for the monthly discount and cancel, they will charge you the difference for every month you took the discount. Would strongly NOT recommend.
Stay Away
Over charged me. Promised a refund. Never delivered it. And have lied about the status of repeat. Their customer service does zero research into your account, merely read a script and promise a follow up that never occurs.
Not working
The app is not working on iPad Pro, need refund.
Photo Privacy Bug
This latest update doesn’t work well with iOS’s photo privacy setting. I can’t download photos unless I select “Allow Access to All Photos” which is a privilege Shutterstock definitely doesn’t need.
Where are the settings in the app?
I have downloaded the same photo three times but I can’t access it because it downloads to the app itself and I can only change it in settings. That would be easy if my app had a settings button. Extremely frustrating!
Overpriced and terrible customer service
For an image download service, Shutterstock is way overpriced. The only reason I tried Shutterstock was because I have to create presentations regularly, and I like to use stock images in my presentations. The images from Shutterstock are average, nothing spectacular. The free images available through MS PowerPoint are of the same quality. Shutterstock is too expensive for what you get. For $50/mo, you get 10 downloads. You can sign up for the annual plan at $30/mo, but trying to cancel is like pulling teeth. You also have to pay the difference between the monthly and annual if you do complete your year commitment. Don’t bother wasting your money!

Not impressed
I’m sure this App is great if you plough through a lot of images every month but it is terrible for small businesses who need an image now and again. I signed up for the free trial because I wanted to buy one image. There is no option for this. I forgot to cancel the plan after the trial..my fault...but I then turned off auto renewal thinking the plan would be stopped. I just got billed again. You also HAVE to use up your image allowance every month, it does not roll over. I now have to download ten images to get my money’s worth this month otherwise I will have paid over £20 for the privilege of nothing. Large companies yes, I’m sure it’s great. Small businesses I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. It’s not clear how to cancel....oh and if you miss the deadline for cancelling the free trial, you get charged £20 for that privilege too! It’s a company that operates like car insurance. I am thankful that as a one off favour they wavered my £20 cancellation fee, but I don’t think this is a great system. I’d use again if you could buy an image at a time but doing it this way is very, very expensive!

Slow lightbox
Search function works well - easy to filter. Adding an image to a lightbox is way too slow.
