This app is the slowest app I’ve experienced with online banking. I have other accounts on the same device and Santander on other devices and it is the slowest app going in my opinion. Makes transfering money and making online payments a sit down task rather than on the go.

App crashes when saving a passcode

As of Nov 2024 I’ve been through the whole process of scanning passport etc. but when I create a new passcode and hit the submit button, the App crashes. I’ve deleted and downloaded the App again and again. Same problem. Fix it.

Software Problems

Whilst viewing my credit card statement recently, I used the split screen option on iPad to allow calculator app to be viewed at the same time. On doing this the pending transactions total disappears and turned into progress type moving symbol. I waited a short time to see if it was taking some time to recalculate but the symbol did not change.
I decided to go back to single screen and swiped right to get rid of the calculator. The Santander screen re-sized to fill the whole screen but the pending transactions total was still the progress symbol.
I had to go back to the Santander Home Screen and back into the credit card view to get the pending transactions total to re-appear.

Also, on the credit card statement, it would be very useful to see a running total column on the right so having made a payment I can see the balance has actually come down accordingly.

This problem came to light whilst checking my balance which didn’t seem to reflect a recent payment that was showing in the in/out columns and not being able to see a running total made it impossible to see if that payment transaction had actually been completed.

The current account part of the app shows a running total, please add this functionality to the credit card part of the app.

Overall, not a bad app but please add the running total column, it’s not very nice not being able to cross check a running total against the displayed balance.

So slow - old app was better!

The new app is SO slow compared to the old one. Takes ages to login and process things - fix it Santander! Not an improvement at all.

I feel comfortable with this app. It’s easy and accessible.

Santander new banking app.

I can’t say that I’m enjoying this new app. For one thing I used to be able to keep an eagle eye on my current account balance via the instant balance widget this enabled me to keep any surplus funds in a higher rate savings account and top up the current account when needed to cover regular payments and bills. Today a bug cropped up which gave me a moment of concern, my NatWest credit card account is added to the app which is great but it now appears as two separate accounts, one shows my remaining card spend and the other the debit amount on the card. They both appear as separate card debits and for a moment I thought I’d been scammed for several thousand pounds. A quick check on my NatWest account showed the true state of affairs that being my spend available and my current debit amount. My Santander app shows these two amounts as separate accounts in debit.
So I find myself having to login to the app several times a day to keep abreast of things and some of the info it gives me is erroneous. It now takes me a lot more effort and time to do what I’m use to doing. So it’s no longer particularly convenient to use.

Hasn’t worked

App hasn’t worked in a week. Doesn’t work randomly time to time but now it’s been like a week straight, even after updating it. Do I need to just switch banks now or what?

The new app is the worst - it keeps freezing and is now more time consuming to use.

Not as good as the old app.

New update is terrible

New update takes forever to load and crashes most of the times you use it. Needs fixing….

New app does load payees

I’ve loaded the new app and upgrades but I cannot see payees and pay bills now. When accessing the payee page my screen freezes and the payee’s page is blank. No matter what I do I can’t get it to sort out. Please push a fix in the next upgrade.
