  • Pire customer service au monde

    Ca fair 3 semaines que je me tue a expliquer à tous les gens de cette compagnie que ça ne prend pas de visa pour un citoyen canadien pour visiter la France. C’est quand même ce qu’ils attendent pour “vérifier” mon profil! Plus jamais! 😡
  • Could not rent a car

    You can register and spend time a Latvian driver’s license, in options for phone number you can choose Latvian country code but it doesn’t do anything, even not saying it’s not possible to register with this phone number. My friend tried 5 times and suddenly it said he has been blocked for 24 hours. Then I tried to register with Latvian number, didn’t work, did my spanish phone number and it worked, but at the end when I have found the car and spent so much time my Latvian bank card looks like it’s not working, but it doesn’t say anything, just didn’t do anything when you press continue.
    So at the end couldn’t rent a car.
    Also at the beginning it is not mentioned that they will hold 400 eur of deposit.

  • Unable to lock the car with the app

    Could not lock the car when I returned it because the app was not working properly
  • Worst ever app

    Requires visas for a country I don’t need a visa but won’t let me apply without it. Customer service won’t help. No phone contact. HORRIBLE
  • A scam for non-European travelers

    The app seems very easy to use, all the car owners we met were extremely nice and helpful. However this company is very inefficient and make it impossible for me to get my accepted car rental in time.
    First of all, foreigners need to get verified on the app—which is really not the app, it’s a link on the app to Getaround Europe’s website, very poorly designed UI. Then we have to upload tons of photos and VISA information. For many Americans traveling to Europe, VISA is not required for short term travel. I explained this to their “contact” message over and over again for over a whole week. Still get rejected over and over again. Eventually I get to the country and had to get the car and my paperwork is still not approved. Luckily I’m with another Getaround user who applied and submitted the exact same paperwork a week later than me and got approved (I wonder why?! 🙄). The car owner came out and met us but I was unable to get anyone in customer support to get me verified, so we switch the rental to the other user’s account. Guess what? Getaround bumped up the price for over 100€. We asked the car owner who’s in front of us if she can lower the rate, she said she’s getting the exact same amount as before. Sounds like Getaround is finding a way of scamming us more money by not approving users and bump the rate last minute. I contacted support again and they can only give us future credits. Which seems useless, would I even want to rent with Getaround with this experience? The customer support reps were very courteous and tries to help, but I believe it is the company trying to use this strategy to scam us more money. Not to say the app itself is really not an app, it’s just a bunch of links to their website and difficult to use on my phone. Not recommend using this company and their app at all.
    The developer is most likely going to respond by saying please contact us-btw I did and I don’t find future credits any helpful.

  • Sadly a organization with no proper customer service

    They require everything to be submitted online, which is fine until they require visa documentation for countries that don’t require a visa (France for less than 90 days). Somehow they are unable to get past this hurdle and continue to send requests for photo documentation of a visa in the passport. Not sure how a company can operate in such a manner.

  • Impossible de vérifier

    Cela va faire bientôt deux jours que je fais mon possible pour être vérifier et avoir accès à la location de vechule mais get around ne fait que me redemander les meme pièces d’identité encore et encore. Vraiment décevant…
  • First time user - great experience!

    All I can say - this was a great experience. Great car, great communication, completely smooth experience. Will book again!
  • Very user unfriendly service

    Approval of the profile for France took a lot of back and forth communication and more than 3 days. Credit card use is so overwhelmingly multistep that the Bank of America security division does not recommend using the service as they are unable to verify processing even after confirming the transaction. Ended up with giving up renting through this app. It’s maybe for locals. Strongly not recommend for US driver booking trip to France.
