    L’application ne permet pas de faire la mise au point quand on utilise l’appareil photo pour transmettre les documents demandés.
    Beaucoup, beaucoup, beaucoup de demandes de documents : le processus de commande a pris 40 minutes (premiere commande).
    J’espère que tout le monde est sérieux dans cette transaction.

    As a host the check in can be a bit frustrating at times, the client having to sign documents off my personal phone is sometimes a hassle as it means I must be present for every booking, which can cause issues if I’m at work.

    It can also be frustrating as customers are able to book the car but not pay to confirm it, and then this booking isn’t cancelled until the last minute, which means I’ve wasted my morning waking up early to wash, hoover and sanitise the car for a rental that hasn’t happened.

    I reckon the check in process should be simplified a bit and allow for more flexibility, not being able to start a rental a couple minutes early results in having the client and I stand outside for up to 20mins until we’re able to sign the documents.

    I requested two cars in Nice two days ahead and was declined. No reason provided. I deserve a reason. Very unreliable method of renting a car. I will stick with Renault Mobility for France. I couldn’t leave feedback for the owner, so I hope there are penalties for the owners in this situation.
  • Convenient and cheaper than regular rental agencies

    I have used Getaround (and Drivy before it changed name) several times. It’s convenient, here’s a lot of choice where I live (in Paris) and cheaper than the conventional car rental agencies. I’ve used it for both passenger cars and for a small van for moving some furniture.
    The automated check in and check out, and automated unlock/lock at the start and end of the rental work well. I appreciate that you get a ten minute grace period after locking, in case you realise you’ve left something inside.

  • Worst company ever

    I have had the absolute worst experience using get around.

    I rented a car with get around starting the 30th, we get to the car with my two sons who are 9 months and 3 years old, and the car already looks very dirty but I guess thats just a detail and not that important, I get in the car and turn it on and I start realizing the car had some kind of a problem, I start driving it get on the highway and almost risked my life because the car would not go fast than 50 miles per hour, it would break on its own and the motor would make a really bad noise. I was scared for my kids and my life driving this car. I parked the car in a safe spot and from there started the worst day of my life, it was impossible to get any of your agent on the phone as the automated system did not recognize my phone number even though it was linked to my reservation and for some reason did not recognize my reservation number as well, it took me 1 hour to get someone on the phone, after that an other hour to finally get transferred to road side assistance, my calls would drop and even though they knew the whole situation i would receive no calls back. I finally got someone from road side assistance on the phone that tells me “we are sending a tow truck and you will get a text message with all the information”, I never received a text message but did receive the tow truck. The tow truck parked and asked me “what do I do with car”, I certainly thought roadside assistance or get around would have send a tow truck with clear directions but apparently not. And there goes another hour on the phone trying to find someone that could help us, no one knew how to help us and kept on telling us that the tow truck driver would know when he absolutely did not, after a an hour negotiating, we finally have a solution: a taxi will pick you up where you are and take you to Europcar where you’ll have a new car waiting for you. We waited about 2 hours for the taxi, we finally get someone on the phone again after calling about 5 more times and kept on hearing the taxi is on its way, only to found out they never had our location to begin with so never sent the taxi (keep in mind this is in the middle of summer in Madrid so extremely hot , with 2 kids, suitcases, car seats, no where to go or wait since we kept on hearing the taxi is arriving). The taxi arrived and we are on our way to europcar, which I got told maybe 6 times I had a reservation with. We arrived at Europcar I give my name and last name and the lady tells me there so no reservation under my name, I could not believe it, we call again, I explain the whole situation again to a new agent which he assures me yes it is europcar, he even gives me the reservation number, the lady at Europcar tells me its impossible that this is a Europcar number. I call once again, have to explain the whole story again, they put me on hold for another 10 minutes only to find out it was never Europcar but Enterprise, I had to walk another 1.5 km to the right place, again with my 2 young kids, suitcases, car seats, stroller etc and then finally at around 8pm got the replacement car. I wasted an entire day of vacation because of this.

    Overall, the irresponsibility of the owner of the car for putting a car that is incredibly dangerously broken out of rent, the way get around agents were un helpful and actually pretty rude (please listen to the recording of the phone calls) , and the roadside assistance that were not only incapable and plain stupid.

    The fact that get around was completely fine with leaving a woman her 2 young kids, out in a city, with absolutely no follow up, no help, not once has someone contacted me to make sure roadside assistance was able to help, not once has anyone reached out to make sure I got the replacement car.

    Their automated service also just doesn’t work, I wasn’t able to get through anyone with my phone number or my reservation number.

    If you are looking to rent a car, or put your car up for rent, I promise you get around is not worth it.

  • Dreadful company and app

    If I could leave a zero star rating I would. First time user and the car I hired was appalling. Dirty and lots of things broken but the main one being the key was broken and it caused the engine to immobilise shortly after I drove off. Contacted Getaround and the person I spoke to was slow and useless and didn’t provide any roadside assistance. Subsequently contacted them again to complain and was offered £40 credit to my account. As I don’t plan to use them again this is unsatisfactory and they flatly refused a refund to my payment card quoting “many payments are needed to ensure the quality of our service”. Strange as I have received no such quality service. Absolute joke of a company
    ** Subsequently been contacted by Getaround to inform me that their customer support team are not trained mechanics and can’t offer technical support. Well duh! It’s an insult to my intelligence that I was expecting customer support to advice me to fix the car, what I was expecting was that they could get the roadside assistance out to me but after 15 minutes on the phone to one of the support team I was still giving my details. They were slow and I had to repeat everything. I ended up hanging up and phoning the AA directly.

  • Very convenient and well priced. Great support team

    Very convenient app and I’ve found it to be the best priced rental around with no hidden charges unlike other apps similar to this. Only drawback is that the included mileage is quite low and if you go over it can add up quite quick. However I’ve still found it cheaper than traditional rental and Turo. The support team are great and very efficient, I was mistakenly overcharged mileage due to a fault with the cars system but they sorted it very quickly and refunded me with a credit.

    All in all a very good experience.

  • Insurance claim

    Used a car through Getaround someone crashed into the car and have taken full liability for damage. Getaround need to contact the third party insurance company but have not done so and will not cooperate with me about what’s going on. Seems as if they are happy to keep my deposit and leave it as that which is unacceptable and very unprofessional as I’m not at fault and blame has been admitted. Admiral insurance are awaiting contact from Getaround to complete the claim and pay for all damages caused by their policy holder.

All cases where a third party is involved are handled by our insurers Allianz who contact the third party insurers in order discuss liability. Once liability has been confirmed to Allianz, Getaround can release your deposit. Unfortunately, Getaround cannot contact the third-party insurance company directly as it must be handled by our insurance partners.   • Disgraceful service

    So not only did the lead at customer service refuse to help, they also were rude and after I got rude back they blocked my account PERMANENTLY. I hired several cars and although there were huge maintenance issues I wanted to keep going as I needed a vehicle for work. They permanently blocked me with no chance if ever restoring my account because I complained about the abusive service. I have never been so embarrassed. Thank goodness Turo have accepted me and offer vehicles with no issues. Hopefully one day Get-around correct this issue.

    They asked me to reach out to them (publicly) once I did, they told me(privately), that there is no way they will restore my account. No explanation or reason provided. Just a customer service team who causes issues on vehicles they do not own and with customers they never see. An utterly dreadful experience. Highly disappointed and hope my post helps to warn others. Cheap things don’t last. Turo accept my custom and I’ve not had one issue with them at all. I truly wish I could give less than one star.
