  • Glitch in the system

    After starting my rental, taking all the required pictures and flagging any problems with car’s condition, the app suddenly closed. Every time I tried to reopen it, it would load and then quickly exit again. I tried fully exiting the app and restarting my phone - problem persisted. When it came time to return the rental same problem so I deleted and redownloaded the app. None of my initial pictures were saved from the start of my ride so I had to take them over and then do the same thing again to end the ride. Hope this gets fixed.

  • Inaccurate fuel level reading in the app

    There is an issue with the fuel level reading where the car gauge and range clearly show full tank whereas the app reports back 90% fuel. Then you get dinged automatically with no way to dispute the charge. I took a picture of the fuel gauge in the car and the indicator is not just pointing at the “F” symbol, but clearly past it. If the app reading was 95% it would make more sense, but to have the app say the car is only at 90% full does not make sense. That’s a difference of over a gallon of gas, which would definitely show up on the instrument fuel gauge. Not satisfied at all with the customer service nor the app experience. Wouldn’t recommend to my friends. Use Turo or a reputable rental car company instead like National.

As a reminder, if you have rented a vehicle equipped with Getaround Connect technology, the levels are read automatically. You have the option of disputing the fuel levels as indicated on the application, you must do so if the difference between the level read automatically, and what is displayed on the fuel gauge is greater than 15%. If the difference is less than 15% we use the device readings by default, as the device is capable of more accurate readings than what is displayed on the fuel gauge. If you have contested the fuel levels, but no incident has occurred with the device during your rental, the automatic readings are taken into account.   • They let you book cars that aren’t working

    I have booked three rentals in the last two weeks that had known issues to GetAround that would prevent me from driving the vehicle. Including headlights being out and the battery being dead. GetAround did not provide me with a backup rental saying I had to contact the owner of the vehicle to get a different rental from them. I had to get the trips refunded, which takes another week to get my money back, and wasn’t able to work because of it. Of the $500 I missed out on work, because GetAround will rent you non-working vehicles, and all they could offer was a $10 coupon. ONLY USE THIS APP AS A LAST RESORT!

  • REPORTING TO BBB

    REPORTING THESE SCAMMING THIEVES TO THE BBB. THEY DO A BAIT AND SWITCH THEN OVER CHARGE AND EVEN DOUBLE CHARGE!! ALSO, FILING A FALSE DAMAGE CLAIM WHEN THEY HAVE ALL THE PICTURES FROM CHECK OUT AND CHECK IN!! I gave the car a one star review because the car was in terrible condition, which I reported at pick up and sent pictures so I don’t know if it’s the owner of the car making this false claim but either way get around allowing it to happen and I’ve spent over a month trying to get $155 back that they overcharged me and they acknowledge overcharging me and they still have not refunded the money. Claims were not made until almost a month after rental was returned about these false damages. And you’ll never get to call them on the phone after you return the car there’s no way to contact them. The phone number is all of a sudden disconnected so you have to do everything through messaging and I don’t know if they don’t understand English or what the problem is why they haven’t refunded me my money that they double charged me for they charged four of my cards and they acknowledge this and still have not refunded the overcharged amount.

  • Service is great, new app is TRASH

    I love Getaround but whoever designed the new app must have some mental deficiencies or something because it seems it was designed to intentionally be slower and worse than the old app. It takes forever to save the pictures and to lock the car and I’ve had to contact Getaround multiple times after my reservation to make sure everything was returned properly because of the sheer uselessness and inefficiency of the app. Like I am legit concerned about the cognitive abilities of people who would go out of their way to make an app that was working so much worse.

  • The new app is poorly done

    The app does not work properly. When trying to unlock a car, it does not work. On the owner side, it used to be where the unlock/locking was on the app, but now when you click there it takes you to webpage within the app to unlock and it does not work. I have not been able to use my car for 7 days now because the app is not unlocking it.

    Even worse is that with the new app contacting support is a worse experience than it already was. No way to call as a car owner only to create a ticket and support gets back to you super slow. For this issue, I hear back from them every 14-16 hours at a time.

  • I hate the new app

    The new app has A LOT of flaws. First, I hate that I can no longer see the exact location of the car when picking it up, the new app just gives a general location. Which means you’ll be wandering around some random neighborhood looking for the car. Second, the new app doesn’t show exactly when a car is booked anymore. In the older app, a calendar was available to see when the car was booked so you could book around other reservations. And third, if a problem arises with your rental upon pick up, the owner has to have another car for you to book. With the old app, if something was wrong with the car Getaround could immediately rebook you for any car close by. That’s extremely inconvenient not only because not all owners have multiple cars on the app but because you’ll have to wait several days for a refund. I recently booked a trip that cost $300 but the car wouldn’t start, thankfully I had the funds to book again but not everyone does!

  • New app is chaotic

    This new app (evidently) doesn’t tell the car owners when their vehicles are being rented, as three different times today have I shown up to get the car and three different times the car was either unavailable or the owner said that the car was not able to be rented despite me having already paid the fee and the security deposit. Now I’m -$300 in processed refunds, have wasted time and energy trying to get to the car, and I was only credited for one of the three unavailable cars.

    I don’t know why you changed the app, but I hope you fix the problems, as it is making this experience feel like a curse.

  • Fraud

    I got charged for the rental WITHOUT confirming the rental reservation. I was trying to book a car through the app. I inputted my debit card and when it got to the page where it shows the actual price and the deposit amount and asks if you want to confirm, I DID NOT click confirm. I immediately exited the app cause the amount of the deposit was too high for me. But I was still charged for the amount of the rental on my debit card. Again, I didn’t even confirm the reservation for the rental. I even double checked if it was confirmed by accident but it was not, the rental or reservation or request doesn’t show on my account, as I did not confirm.

  • Please Read

    I’m in dire need of a vehicle at this moment and Getaround was my last hope. I tried to rent a car through them and they kept saying my limit was exceeded and I needed to contact my bank. So I contacted my bank and I went in person and they said it was on Getaround side. So I tried again through chime and they said the same thing it was on their Getaround behalf. So now I don’t have a way of getting around. On top of that Turo also put a hold on my account because they double processed my account and they’re having trouble fixing that. Idk what going on but they need to fix it ASAP
