The "reservation" function of this app is horribly executed. Users have no way to know where they are at in line, who is up next, or how to cancel their reservation. Even worse, when somebody pulls up to a charging station, there is NO indication it may be reserved until AFTER they have parked, plugged in, started charging, and swiped their card. Use your screen to flash a red "RESERVED" if the space isn't available!!! So frustrating! Furthermore, I've watched a specific group of stations on the app all day today and the status never changed even though the parking lot is now empty.
The hardware at these stations has been quite a pain, since it leaves faults on most cars due to the way it disconnects power sometimes, which is not J1772 compliant. This software combined shows this company isn't listening to its users. Even though I'm local, knowledgeable, and willing to help, when I call in to inform of an issue, my call falls on deaf ears.
Consumers should not have to fear EVSE experiences like this if they go electric! Please make this reservation system go away until you've asked your users to do a pilot test or similar and give you feedback so you can work out the kinks. The idea is interesting, but it's not ready for public consumption yet!
