Used to be better than Uber
I travel constantly around the US and Canada for work. I used to prefer Lyft. They made an effort to resolve issues and were sympathetic. But now they couldn’t care less. They gave the driver a bad route so I missed a flight. I was confused and when I realized what the driver was doing it was too late. There were no traffic issues. Lyft support claims it was the best route and honestly I use ride share several times a week and to the same destinations. It will frequently give the drivers a bad drop off location for one of the places I go for work. It would try to drop me off on the ramp to the interstate a block away. Most drivers in the area know it will do this but it’s a running joke among my colleagues. I’m deleting the app since it’s been a costly mistake today not to monitor what my driver was doing. Generally I’ll get to the airport with hours of buffer time and next time I’ll get there with Uber.
Update: I gave them one star and wish I could take it away. I can’t update payment methods for personal rides. I use a company account for business rides but it won’t load any rides because that payment method on the personal side is expired. You can’t talk to anyone any more. Lyft does not have customer service. You can chat but they will tell you not to contact them or you will be booted to the end of the line for service. Supposedly it’s been escalated, but they haven’t contacted me.

NOT AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA
Downloaded from App Store, entered all my details, tried to look for a ride, only to be told instantly that Lyft isn’t available in Australia. Why is this on the App Store for Australia? To delete your account, the app directs you to the website, which directs you back to the app! You actually can’t remove your account. Lyft has collects all your personal information with no intention of ever providing a service to you. Avoid.

This app is awful
Used a couple of times at Uber was showing more expensive. 1st use as I loaded luggage in can and were ready to go my driver advised the app says we were no longer connect as if I or he had cancelled, neuter of us did. We tried to rebook but forced me to connect to another driver and I couldn’t cancel her. He ended up taking us and paying in cash.
The 2nd time I was waiting 20 minutes for a ride and 2 drivers cancelled without reason.
Not a good experience

not what it used to be
I originally got this application for rides to and from work and I used to be very convenient. however over the past month I have had issues with lateness because the times on the app are inaccurate in picking up and dropping off. It could tell me that my driver is going to pick me up in two minutes and I could take 12 minutes. The same would happen with my drives a drive though it's supposed to be 15 minutes could end up being 40 minutes with no warning. finally the last straw was when I noticed that there are transactions pending in my account for rides I did not take I have deactivated this account today after attempting to contact customer service multiple times and will not be using anymore. I hope for future clients you will consider the impact of these things. Update**** I re-downloaded the app to try it so that I could get a ride to work which is 5 miles and 15 minutes from my house. The fact that they would charge $80-$100 for a 15 minute ride to still have someone wait up to 30 minutes is BEYOND ridiculous. I decided to try to delete my account again and after attempting to contact them and reviewing all of the help articles, I realize the information presented as false and there is no clear way to delete an account. I’ve downloaded it and honestly I hope the FTC catches their price gouging. I regret downloading it and stick to my previous review.

“Women Connect” feature is not good and could easily be better
I have enabled the feature “women connect” on my Lyft app. However, from my last 12 Lyft requests, 10 have been male drivers. It doesn’t really feel like a feature to be honest. I feel like there should be some sort of feedback saying that it is actively searching for a woman. Maybe even giving female drivers incentive to pick-up women that have the “Women connect” enabled…if that is really something you actually care about. Even if that is something $$ you need to pass along to the customer, we may be willing to pay extra if it would make us feel more safe. Or even if there was something where it said, 5 additional minutes to wait for a female driver. You need to DO BETTER Lyft! You act like you are for Women with adding features like this. But when there is no actual follow through or way your customers can see the direct attempt to engage with a female driver is happening, it doesn’t feel real. Especially when the results happening are averaging at 16%. Not Great. There is no pre-notification that I am about to get matched with a male. If my first choice is a woman, I think there should be some sort of system that will alert me that my only ride options are male and give me the option to continue to accept or not. Or tell me how long I need to wait for a female driver. If this is a TRUE feature, then this needs a LOT more work!

Awesome App ~ Love 💕 it
My sorority sister and I have enjoyed using Lyft throughout our 7-day stay here in Houston, TX. We’re here from several locations (Chicago, Florida, and Las Vegas) for the Sigma Gamma Rho’s annual conference. Neither of us wanted the responsibility of driving from the Airbnb to the George Brown Conference Center and around town for events.
Initially, I was nervous about using the app but thanks to my 27-year-old daughter she was able to give me a quick tutorial via Facetime right at the airport. She told me to download both the Lyft and Uber apps to compare prices before reserving/booking a trip and booking the best price…hands down the Lyft app shows more driver availabilities, better prices, and quicker pickup. And receiving cash credits on bookings is awesome not to mention if we're not in a hurry we can save money by waiting 10 or 15 minutes…ASWESOME!
I knew there were safety features built in for both the drivers and passages but it wasn't until we were stopped by a train that I realized if the car was stopped for several minutes the app would send a text message to make sure the driver nor the passage wasn't in need of emergency assistance. I’m glad we decided to leave the driving to Lyft.

It makes everything difficult
Didnt even tell me it wasnt available in my area until after i signed up then make it almost impossible to delete my account. Had to go to the website, then website apparently isnt able to be used anymore, but didnt want to show how to delete the account on the app. just bad
Excellent ride share!
We discovered Lyft recently and now absolutely prefer it to other ride share options. No hidden fees, great drivers and easy to negotiate.
Haven’t used Lyft in a while but..
Haven’t use Lyft in probably a year and a half or more. I added my new card after updating the app since I haven’t used it within five minutes a driver was lined up to pick us up within eight minutes we were picked up had us home fast quick and easy even in rush-hour traffic!! Very impressed. Will always recommend Lyft over Uber any day. Cheap fast and painless. However the reason I stopped getting Lyfts was because they slowly kept rising the prices up and up to almost double and even triple when I first started using it months before. Now that was almost two years ago but after five months time of each time going to and from the same places it going up a dollar or two each and every time I used it. Traffic had nothing to do w it because some days it was little over a lot less traffic and like I said back and forth to the same place every few days or every week or more. That was a big red flag in my book but then again who am I to Lyft? Just another common peasant cockroach. My business means nothing to them in the grand scheme of things cus there is always another poor sucker around the corner or even next door

I Can’t even sign up for this ride share app
I’m in Australia & travelling to the USA in a few weeks. I’ve tried to sign up for the app now, so I can use the Lyft ride share app when I get to the US.
It won’t accept my mobile phone number .
Trying to contact lyft to sort it out is impossible.
Waste of time so I’ll just have to use good old Uber
