Lost the plot
App has NO settings. Not expandable. Print microscopic on iPad Mini, need a magnifying glass for full iPad. Fantastic magazine; but dreadful app.mangoyle

The best of apps - the worst of apps
When it works Car Magazine must be the best magazine app out there. Great. Resolution, easy reading, excellent navigation and wonderful links to features.
That's when it works. From time to time the downloaded issues uninstall and to re-download you've got to delete the app, reinstall it and the once again download the issues. The whole process can take hours depending on how many issues you want.
Lately this is happening 3 or 4 times a day. I had several issues downloaded to read on the long flight from Denver to Tokyo . Of course they weren't there.

What an E-mag App Should Be
Super easy and intuitive to navigate, consistently excellent photo & print clarity, viewable in landscape & portrait, no ads; what more could you expect? Sets the standard as far as I'm concerned. Pricey subscription, though.
That's the review I wrote last year after I downloaded the app & subscribed. I originally gave the car app five stars. I neglected to send it, and it still holds true, except--
It is now unusable with the update to iOs 8: all my mags need to be downloaded anew, but the app simply refuses to allow it, advising me that I need to restart the app prior to downloading any issues. Said restart only brings the same pop-up warning, and the cycle begins anew...

Too complicated
Subscription and authenticating process more complicated than it should be. Even for loyal subscribers renewing their subscriptions. Magazine content is good but nothing you can't get from either Top Gear which has simpler subscribing and signing up processes or from Evo's much more intuitive app. Zero stars here if it was an option.Show less00058562
Errors / can't register
After paying, you receive an email with your customer number. After trying for several hours, all I receive is "an error occurred" after clicking the "create an account" link. They are happy to take your money but it doesn't seem to work in terms of letting you sign up and see the materials. Too bad as this is a great print magazine.Show less320D
Needs work
The magazine is as good as always but the app is problematic. Each month it fails to recognize my subscription and wants me to pay for the mag. It often takes many days, reboots, uninstalls/reinstalls to sort this - very annoying.
In addition it is poor that pages cannot be scaled within the app - all my other magazines allow this.Show lessOtagoBoy
