  • Can’t create an account

I’ve been trying to download the app from my school server with the free download option. Doesn’t work. I’ve been looking at tutorial videos telling me to get this app. Doesn’t work simply because there is no button “create a new account”. Instead you can sign in but forget about it if you don’t already have an account. I don’t know if it’s my IPad that is incompatible or just this app.

A create new account option is a good idea! Currently, you can visit https://myendnoteweb.com to sign up for a free account, for use with the iOS version. Sorry for the inconvenience!
  • Clunky but Works

The whole service (website, desktop app and phone app) are clunky as hell, but somehow do the job!!!
  • Just Terrible

This is the worst app I've experienced. Consistently having to reset my password with no explanation as to why it's needed. I dropped Endnote and moved over to Mendeley.
  • Not compatible with Apple iCloud storage

I use EndNote on my MacBook without any issues, but the iPad app is not useful to me as it’s not compatible with iCloud files library. Not sure why you’d bother developing an app for an Apple device, which is not then compatible with Apple cloud storage. The only options are Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. If you don’t have all your data stored on one of these, don’t bother with this app.

EndNote for iPad actually should have an option to "Add from Files." This option should allow you to attach documents from iCloud to your records. We'll see about making this option clearer about what it does. If you have further trouble with this, please reach out to EndNote Support: Thanks for the feedback!
  • Good except for creating new references

Annotation making tools are quite impressive, this is the main reason I have this app on my IPad, but it’s literally impossible to download and add new pdf references to libraries, I hope they look into that in the future versions

The In-App Browser will allow you to download PDFs, which can then be attached to a new refhttps://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/?language=en_USerence from the Downloads option, either to attach to an existing, or new reference. An important thing to note may be that, for older devices that cannot update beyond iOS 12.5, you may not be seeing several newer features offered by the App. Please feel free to reach out to EndNote Support if you need further assistance with this: https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/?language=en_US
  • Can’t sign in

I can’t sign in, even I register a new account

The timeframe of this coincides with an outage we experienced with the EndNote Online service. Please try logging in once again, and if you have continued issues, reach out to our EndNote Support group: https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/?language=en_US We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
  • Great reader

The UI could be bit better, but overall experience is great. Finally, I can read and annotate my references in my iPad in a native application. I used to use Mendeley, but since they removed their client from the App Store, using their web interface was rather a nightmare. EndNote provides me exactly with what I need. Plus support for Apple Pencil is a nice benefit.

  • Frequently crash to the desktop

    Very annoying
  • Not a fan

Wow did this disappoint. When I saw the app I was so excited to finally be able to create citations from the papers I was reading - especially random ones that came up on Twitter.

    What I hoped:
When pushing the up arrow while on an article I hoped that one of the app options for exporting would have been endnote and that then it would create a citation like on the webpage platform without me manually have to input all the data myself (literally what’s the point if I have to do all those steps myself). It doesn’t do either of these steps.

Okay so best scenario was a bust, what about if I searched the article title through the app. I found the article and it does have an opinion for “Create Reference.” However again it only auto adds the article title. All other details require manual entry which is pretty lame.

I had wanted this to be easier than emailing the article to myself and opening on my computer later but this was not easier. Will be deleting the app.

  • Not at all convenient

It seems the iOS app was an afterthought. Smart Groups don’t carry over. Very cumbersome to search your library. Compared to other reference managers, EndNote is lagging in mobile platforms.
