Loving it
App is such a great accompaniment to my new megaboom 3. Really enhances the functionality of your speaker. Had a few connection issues with the speaker when it was new, but all the bugs seem to have been ironed out, and everything is like clockwork now. I just wish you could bring back the battery icon next to the headphone symbol that appears when you are connected, I loved that feature on my old boom 2. But overall great user experience if you know what you’re doing.

Ehh, it’s OK...
I read a review that matched up the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 against the UE Megaboom 3 with the MB3 coming out on top in most categories. This convinced me to go buy the MB3 after thinking about it for several weeks. I happen to have both speakers. Ehhh, NO. The Bose still sounds better IMHO. The most notable thing was that the MB3 lacks bass, even when cranking up the bass on the custom EQ. And the frustrating part is the app. While the app is cool to operate your speaker ie: turn it on/off remotely etc. BUT set the EQ to your custom settings and when done with the speaker, turn it off with the app then turn the speaker back on and guess what! The app does NOT save your custom EQ settings to memory. Nowhere in the app settings can you save your custom EQ to memory. I turned the speaker on and off several times just to make sure and sure enough, those custom EQ settings were gone every time. This was a major pain. Portable speakers like these will never fill a room full of REALLY LOUD music; I get that. But at least make it crank the bass so it won’t sound like music coming from a tin can. That’s why Bose is Bose folks... UE, set those custom EQ settings to memory and hopefully a firmware update will take care of the lack of bass...

Thoroughly disappointing.
We bought the megaboom 3 just a few weeks ago. Since then, I have managed to connect it to my phone twice (the second time I had to “forget device”, reset my entire phone to “unforget” & then reset the speaker again (which I had already done), my husband’s phone once, and my iPad once. Each time we go to connect again, is says the speaker is out of range when it’s in fact within 10cm of the device we are trying to connect to. It’s disgusting that we paid several-hundred dollars for a product that has been so unreliable. FIX IT, or we want our money back, please and thank you!

Powering speaker on from the app
I'm not sure why you guys ever decided to disable the power on mode within the app. That was a big help, if I ever lost my speaker or misplaced it I could find it just by turning it on from the app. Now I misplace my speaker & I have no help finding it. You should bring back the powering on of the speaker within the app.

This works so much better for voiceover users.
Finally after a year or two of waiting, this app works almost perfectly with voiceover again. I love the fact that I can turn on and off my speakers from my iPhone. I also like the fact that I can rename my speakers without having to ask a sighted person for help. Thank you for the completely redesigned and mostly voiceover friendly update. I am editing this update a little bit. I now have both a BOOM and a Boom 2 speaker. I followed instructions for the double up and party up features, but it doesn’t work. The firmware on both speakers is up-to-date. Also, the party up feature is completely inaccessible to voiceover users. The way that you have it set up for a user to drag the speaker into some kind of drawer does not work because voiceover does not announce that there is a drawer at all.

Alarm feature is back ❤️💙
I got the first UE boom when it came out and also have a UE Boom 2, having control to both on one phone makes everything so much easier. My biggest downside to the app was an update taking away the alarm feature which I relied on to wake me up, needing to use my iPod touch to use the alarm feature as I did not update the app to keep the feature, bringing the feature back to this update makes it so much better, thank you. App works great with all its features, no problems whatsoever.

Best speakers out there
I have no issues, been using for years. Got a megaboom recently that my 2 boom2’s are “sticky’ed too” & never looked bad.
Only suggestion would be to select which sounds the speakers make. Hate hearing the max volume sound as I can tell when it’s not getting louder. I do miss the searching & power-on sounds because of this however.
Being able to select which alert sounds are played would be awesome

Great extra features
I never usually bother to download apps that add extra features to these kind of devices but thought I’d give it a go. Came in way above my expectations, nice equaliser, even more volume to the point I was worried I’d blow the speaker (I didn’t!) and one of the coolest features, DJ mode. This allows me and my mates to all link to the same speaker so we can line up song after song without having to choose which device is connect. The app as I said before exceeded my expectations in every way

Update Kills Battery
They removed the ability to turn off Remote Wake! Now the speaker is always scanning for a connection, even if you think the speaker is off, and the battery dies in double the time!
The Boom speakers used to last days on standby, not true ever since the update.

Power off a 2 stage process
A minor point, but do we really need to have a “are you sure you want to power off?” step forced upon us? On the rare occasion (never have to date) that we turn it off by mistake then we simply turn it back on. The confirmation step should only be used where there’s a risk of doing something significant that can’t be undone; its application here is an irritant (admittedly for me out of all proportion!).
Noting lots of other comments about being unable to power on the speaker from the app I will confirm that it works fine for me.
My rating for the app is neutral 3 as I have no comment on any features other than to switch the speaker on/off.
