After ive written lots, all it does is glitch
I write notes for my university classes in this app (or at least, i try to), and after ive written a paragraph or so, the writing shows up very laggy and it’s quite frustrating.
Projects Vanished
I was so excited to try out this new app, but I don’t see this being used in a work or group setting anytime soon, at least until the glitches can be fixed, the reviews are very accurate. The disappointment for me came while working on a few projects over a span of 2+ weeks. One evening the app closed on it’s own and when I reopened it i had ‘no boards’, nothing saved, nothing recently deleted, nothing backed up, nothing on my other devices, nothing on my cloud drive. After searching the web in hopes of an ansewr, I learned that this is happening to so many users, and like me they could not figure out why or how to retrieve their projects. I also wish I could cut out an image or a part of a image.

Don’t dump it in the middle of my screen
I’m sure this is a useful app, I just have a minor gripe about the way it was delivered. When I download a new app from the App Store it comes through at the bottom of my home screen but when Apple gifts me one, which I probably won’t use, it goes in the middle of the screen and moves all the apps I do use so I can’t find what I’m looking for. Please can you apply consistent rules so I don’t have to mess about with my home screen every time you do an update.

Extremely Lagging and caused problem
At first it’s good, I made notes fluently. However, after using it more than an hour or so, it gets unbelievably laggy, I’m using iPad Pro 2020, I’ve never seen may iPad gets so laggy in an app. No matter writing, tapping, or even open and close the app, it was unbearably laggy in the app. I tried restart the device but eventually the app goes laggy again. When I copied and pasted one section of my notes to another section, it didn’t land in the place I wanted it to be but overlapped with my other notes weirdly, then I tried to move it away, BUT because it’s so laggy, the notes can’t even be moved. Then I reopened the app, and my notes just overlapped with each other and I can’t even withdraw my previous procedure. I’m very upset right now because my valuable notes that took me so long to finished just overlapped with each other without any solution. I am very disappointed and sad, and a bit angry. Not gonna use and trust this app anymore. Until the problem get fixed, which I wish so.

Lag while writing
There is lag between writing and appearing on the app.
Looks good if the above issue is fixed. Expect better from apple, as even notability writing is far batter than this app. Using it for the never ending landscape factor.

Lagging and shape recognition
The lagging made me frustrated and also there is no shape recognition. But overall it was ok.
Two fingers tap for re-do
If Apple wants to make this app feel intuitive, they really have to add a two-fingers tap for a re-do and maybe even a three-fingers tap for reversal.
I’m sorry, but these are features that are considered to be basic in creative apps like that, so Apple needs to swallow its pride and use them for their own applications as well.
Or do we have to wait for them to come up with “their own way” like they are doing with calculator for iPad for, like, 10 years now?

Needs MAJOR debugging
-Battery drain is ridiculous (iPad pro M2/256) -Pencil lag. You can’t write clearly because…where is the last letter in the word? -with Bkgnd app refresh off, it is still a BATTERY KILLER -Lags while zooming in/out -App shuts down while work is in progress. -For the life of me, PLEASE add options to the shared/collab mode. I’m pretty sure this is at least half of the reason this is such a batttery killer. -the pen lines/thickness/etc are sometimes glitchy/with somewhat of a narrow choice in the first place. You can do super fatties or thingy-winny’s, but in between is not as tweakable. -some functions can be a little glitchy/latent. -Though I jump on different appps, last week, my iPad oggged 100% of battery usage to this app-hence, the term “battery-killer”. -EXCELLENT LAYOUT AND POTENTIAL! EXCELLENT CONCEPT! -This app will one day rule the world.
Update: Jan 10, 2023- This app just drained my battery from 100% to 83% at a rate of 1% per minute. After writing two sentences, my screen was warm to the touch, and by the end of the paragraph, the back of my iPad was hot as well. This app CAUSES HEAT DEATH AND THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
Update: Jan 10, 2023- This app just drained my battery from 100% to 83% at a rate of 1% per minute. After writing two sentences, my screen was warm to the touch, and by the end of the paragraph, the back of my iPad was hot as well. This app CAUSES HEAT DEATH AND THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

Hey, this is not a bad start
I’m really liking this app. We just download it and added it to all our devices. I immediately started to collaborate on one of my designs with my wife just to see how well this thing works. It was aces all the way and I’m very impressed. Of course there’s room for improvement, that’s a given, but not bad for a first off. I look forward to the all the future updates.

Very Helpful App
I love this app, I have been looking for an easy to use, nice looking note taking app and none have really made me as pleased as Freeform. I believe that a few improvements could be made such as;
1. My main issue is there are no folders for boards. To make this app exemplify productivity, ability to organize is a big deal
2. Be able to change the paper colour
3. Have shapes that snap to be perfect when held like Apple’s “notes” app
Overall I think this is a great app and will continue to use it, but further down the line if folders are not an option, it may be difficult for me to continue use.
