Useless waste of code
The TV comes with a remote. Why would I want to download a remote to my phone?! Deceptive wording makes you think you can cast to the TV. But no, it’s just a useless remote app. The developers have wasted their time making this.
Works well. Not the app’s fault that you are staying at bad hotels
The app does everything it say it will. A lot of these reviews are just mad that the hotels folks are staying at have TVs that won’t allow AirPlay or similar casting services. That’s not the fault of the app. I enjoyed using it and it was easier than navigating the cable channels with a remote.
Pointless
I’m on holiday in USA and in most hotels in the UK you can use an app to connect your phone to the TV so you can watch things like Netflix etc in the big screen. Well this app isn’t that and basically it is making ur phone act as a remote which is pointless as you will just use the remote in the hotel room. Very disappointed

Who needs this?
I thought to myself, $300+ per night, minimal on-demand, cable whose only information is “no information available” for every channel - SURELY I can connect my phone and watch my own apps, uninterrupted by horrible pizza commercials where the voice over is restraining tears, FOR I DID NOT KNOWWWW OF THESE PIZZA DISCOUNTS.
Why yes-of-course! A simple app will connect your phone to the tv! Have access to your data. Connect to your literal face and biometrics.
And now my phone has remote buttons on it, a volume control, and a power button. Like the remote in the room. It connects my phone to the tv with no benefit for me to project decent content, and every benefit for them to track my other app usage. My phone is now open to, I’m sure, simple hacking from an app that delivers literally nothing to the user and serves itself. Avoid this.

worked as described

This did what the App Store description said it would do, seamlessly in our case. What benefit it provides in lieu of the TV remote, I haven’t a clue 🤷♂️. Feels like a waste of time.
The only problem we encountered is that Hyatt gives guests the impression you can ‘cast’ with this app…you can’t. Hyatt also utilizes Google Chromecast and unfortunately, on this evening, it isn’t connecting.

Easily cast to my hotel room TV
I didn’t use the remote features, but I did easily cast content from my streaming apps to the hotel room TV (great!).
To cast simply open your streaming app of choice (Netflix, etc), hit the cast button but select “Chromecast” (not Airplay).

Just a remote
Pretty pointless as you need a tv remote to connect to the app which is a more limited remote. The reviewers saying it helps cast would be able to cast without the app. My hotel has the tv on another network other than the guest network. The hotel probably doesn’t want casting because they want you to buy on demand movies so the pit a worthless app on the tv to make you think the issue is the app.

This works on a chromecast enabled tv
I followed their instructions and was able to watch Prime, Tubi and Netflix on my hotel tv. The tv has to be set up to recognize Stayconnect. Performed flawlessly.
