  • Such a great browser ❤️

This browser really nails the quickness of finding information. The browse for me is an amazing way to get information without having to do down a series of sites, this really frees up the amount of time I spend getting what I want. While it’s not perfect, they are constantly listening to feedback and updating every week, there is nothing like it. The downsides for me at the time of writing this. * No Arc sync built in (but this is in the pipeline) * No iPad and VisionOS app (they need to make this widely available if it’s going to be a primary browser) * Hyperlink to apps, it likes to hold onto the page(Should have a nice button on top to give me the option to open in app and even remember what pages I decided to open in app with a way to manage this in settings) The pros for me at the time of writing this. * Great design (love the look and feel of it) * Browse for me is a game changer (decreases the amount of time I’m browsing by giving me information I need all while sourcing the information correctly) * Awesome company (the company has so many talented humans) There is nothing to lose trying this and this is by far the best value that would substantially increase happiness and productivity. 👍🏼
  • Browser with Potential

Seems like this browser really has potential. The “browse for me” and search features are very nice (as befitting the name of this app).

It certainly needs some additional features, however, to be a real browser replacement rather than a simple search app. It needs features such as profiles, page zoom, requesting desktop site, accessibility settings, an option to never close inactive tabs, a reading list, proper favorites and history, etc.

Update: the swipe gesture navigation was (mostly) fixed! It feels much better to use now, although the gesture still isn’t only from the edge and still sometimes accidentally triggers. Not sure if that was coincidental or prompted by my review, but it’s good to see devs constantly improving.
  • Promising, but the loading animation!

I’ve been using Arc on macOS for about a year, and I was excited to have a minimalist default browser with Arc Search on mobile with the same attention to detail.

As a researcher, I love the intuitive pinch-to-summarize feature. Instead of relying on Readwise Reader for AI-generated summaries, I can very easily filter which articles and papers I want to send actually to read later with Arc Search on the go. I use this feature much more than when I used BingAI in Edge on iOS.

I’ve found that I’m more inclined to use Browse for Me pages on essential topics, conceptual distinctions, etc., in my workflow as a reminder to Readwise to follow up and verify later than with other AI tools.

While it may be irksome for some to have Arc Search *and* the Arc Companion app, being able to pin links to Arc on desktop from Arc Search or anywhere is more than enough for my needs. I do still look forward to the integration of the two and an iPad app that will make me upgrade the archaic artifact that is my old iPad! The only thing holding a 5⭐️rating back is that the loading animation on the Arc Companion app is objectively better.

Regardless, few apps give me the same level of joy as Arc. Very promising start.

Also, the swipe gestures really need to follow iOS HIG protocol and only trigger from a screen edge swipe, not a swipe anywhere on the screen. I am constantly going back or forward simply while trying to scroll, and it’s not a good experience.
  • Amazing start, missing some features

Arc search has surprised me with how good it is. All of the AI features are actually useful, and the interface and UI are surprisingly in depth. One of the parts I immediately noticed is the arc logo on the main page can be moved around and spun, which I personally really like. It’s fun to twiddle your thumbs with it.

Now for the cons: although I feel the app is amazing so far, it definitely needs some things from the desktop app. I was surprised about the sheer lack of features that the desktop app has (E.G profiles, spaces, icons, etc.), which I feel could be easily added and would be a good improvement. Spaces especially I think could be a good fit for the app. Overall though, I think Arc Search is an amazing app and an amazing start for the browser company on mobile, and I can’t wait to see how it improves in the future.
  • So much promise

I WANT to love this app (and the MacOS version as well). It has great features, seems like an awesome company full of talented people. UI is great. The big things at this point that are holding me back from 5 stars and switching from safari to Arc is: 1) the integration with the Apple ecosystem. It would be so much more helpful if the browser tapped into the api to allow users to fill in passwords and other info from the Apple stored info (kinda like Edge does). It’s a kind of a hassle having to either save passwords and verification codes in two places or switch back and forth from Passwords settings to copy and paste. This means using two browsers for different things or starting my searches and browsing on Arc and then if I do make a purchase having switch back over to safari - very inconvenient when the whole point of technology is convenience. 2) no (native) iPad version. Need to be able to consistently browse from one device to another. This needs to be somewhat seamless like in safari. Having to use a second browser on iPad is just counter productive.

Overall it’s a pleasure to use Arc on my Mac and iPhone and I have gotten to use a few features that work amazing and I didn’t even know I needed. Can’t wait to see how this product matures and hope that it can eventually fill the gaps and I can switch over to this as my default across devices.
  • Little Changes Everyday!

I am currently going to School for graphic design and the way the Arc browser has transformed my routines while interacting with my non-functioning community college and their Microsoft outlook infused nightmare into a smooth process of constantly being able to find anything and everything I need for my school projects and keep up with the daily grind, I can’t emphasize how intuitive this browser really is you’ll probably get sucked into it as quickly as you get sucked into TikTok.

Been a obsessed fan since day 1. Thanks guys, slow and steady updates win the race.
  • Clean, nice, actually useful AI feature, and still improving

The Arc search is very quick and clean. It is currently optimized for searching up informations and less for holding tabs upon tabs of things. It will hold recent tabs for you, with auto archive for inactive tabs with settings you can pick from 12 hours to 2
30 days. There is no permanent tabs/bookmarks but the search bar shows past tabs in the history too, so I never felt like I need the bookmarking feature (would be nice to have though). The AI search actually helps summarizing the information without me having to click and scroll through pages to find them. Sometimes it even shows info I want that normal google search with the exact same keywords didn’t provide. Pretty impressed and switched to Arc search as my main browser now. Looking forward to the future updates for Arc search

  • Please make at least four tabs Visible at the same time

It’s necessary to allow users to browse taps and arrange them as a result at least four tabs could be visible on a screen at the same time,
It’s gonna get harder and harder for users to arrage and remember what tabs they opened before, as users continues to open more and more tabs.
I know arc is trying to make switching taps look much more like him switching between apps on iPhone, taps arranging and switching work differently on switching apps, the tabs contain more information really have to switch as quick as possible when taps are too many to locate efficiently.
In sometimes when users vent a lot of tabs and forgot some important taps. They opened the day before they woke up, so it really important to you Let the users know WHAT they open before IN A NEAT WAY and saves a lot of more time.
Because right now, switching between tabs in Arc is like finding some cards among 100 cards stacked together and those cards have no very visible signals for locating.
This like walking into a gallery with two rolls of paintings, arranged in a parallel way.
