  • Not Free

I downloaded this but you can only get the decent workouts if you pay. I tried Pacer and it has better workout programs for people who don’t wanna pay.

The free download gives you access to many of our top signature workouts, as well as a library of single exercises, all wrapped up in an ad-free experience. For more information contact us directly at support@freeletics.com #ClapClap
  • Convenient & Effective!

Great app. The workouts are so convenient in terms of space needed and time to complete... i workout in my kitchen on a yoga mat, which is very small, and can comfortably complete all of the exercises in that space. The workouts ramp up at a good pace too. You have to couple this with a decent diet, obviously, but for people who struggle to make exercise a part of their routine - its brilliant in terms of giving you visible results.

    EDIT:
One improvement would be to change the phrasing of the post workout question responses for “How was your technique?”.
I take time for proper technique although occasionally can’t do all the reps, the answers don’t necessarily cater for that, for example “I could perform all repetitions with correct technique”. In situations where i have proper form but couldn’t do all the reps this doesn’t really work as an accurate response. I usually assume that the “How was it?” question before is referring to the quantity instead. So it might he better to just remove any reference to the amount of reps from the technique question responses. Or make them separate questions...

  • The best fitness app ever

I’ve been a free athlete for 13 months now and I still love it. After about 3 weeks of using the free app I decided to invest in the premium version with a coach. It’s so worth it. The coach pushes me forward week after week and every workout day is different so you don’t get in a rut. The new 6-12 week training programmes are a great addition. If you’re ready to work hard and push yourself harder than you ever considered you could, this app is for you. You MUST love burpees to get this app or at least have a love-hate relationship :-)

  • Pretty cool. Could be awesome

I really like this app. I use to do CrossFit and the fact that there are some set workouts were you can save your scores is really motivating. I love there is pretty much everything you would do without bars or equipment. It does have the muscle up/pull up option which is cool. What would make it perfect?
    1. To add more optional inexpensive equipment (box, medicine balls, dumbbells)
    2. The social aspect is great. I love to see my friends’ scores and try to beat them. But the problem is that when you click to see a workout they posted, there’s no way to see the workout itself. You have to go to workouts and look for it. That seems to darn cluncky to me.
It would be also nice to see everyone’s score once you click on a post to see the comparison not only with me but the rest of my friends.
    3. I wish I could skip the cool down because I actually add a yoga lesson after Freeletics. So that is my cool down.

  • Why Is it not free

This app seems extremely helpful in the process of you either losing weight or gaining muscle the only thing that stood out was the fact that its call 'Freeletics' but you have to pay for a subscription

Freeletics was created as a concept to allow all people, no matter their background, situation or genetics, to train their physical strength and willpower without hurdles such as equipment, schedules, or experience. To train “free” of limits. For information on how to enjoy the Free Training Section of our app, please contact us at support@freeletics.com. #ClapClap

  • Quality if you persist

I have been at it for about a year. The paid subs, with the coach, is well worth the money and far better an investment than a gym. There is little short-term benefit outside of unachievable sets of exercises and muscle soreness in the following days.

I was surprised that, after about 4 weeks of 3-4 sessions a week that the sessions seemed difficult, but achievable. After 10 I saw genuine benefit in terms of fitness, strength and weight that I hadn’t got doing other things. I am in my late 40s and have been using this in conjunction with cycling. I can fit the workouts around my work life and have found them a great support. If it was the only exercise I was doing I would have not kept it up - the workouts can feel repetitive but I had seen results so was encouraged to keep them up.

Coach is very good, and adapts well from week to week (but not within a week). When I was injured I could isolate muscles in the app and not get any exercises that would affect them. The flexibility to mix up the number of sessions and your focus is great.

Highly recommended if you are after something to fit into a time-poor life that will have an impact.

  • Not what you expect.

Firstly, I downloaded this app after reading the App Store story about Freeletics. Don’t let the name make you download this app because it’s not completely free. However, I did try using the full version, paying for three months.

Another let down is how they tell you that you can do it anywhere. If “anywhere” means full access to internet. Sometimes images won’t load and you can’t see what exercises you need to do (even though they show it in the summary page, it won’t show at the main exercise page). If you don’t have data, the app will experience problems and won’t sync your run hence you’ll have to log it manually. Or if your internet is slow, you won’t be able to see how to do the exercises.

Lastly, If you’re a pro, you’ll still have to have your phone beside you at all times as you have to swipe right to move to the next exercise.

My final verdict is that it isn’t as glamorous as it looks. Kind of a let down. I think paying for the premium Fitbit Coach is better.

  • Good but room for improvement

I did the initial coach recommendation questionnaire on my laptop (which I wouldn’t pay much heed to - it gave completely different answers for the same input...).
Anyhow. Got a subscription, downloaded the app and dove into week 1 of my programme. Just finished all 5 days, psyched to start week 2, then get a popup about these same new 6/12 week long courses... Which directs me to the same questionnaire again, and gives me the same list of options. So that’s a bit annoying, as makes the past week feel a bit pointless - I had already chosen a programme and now my progress doesn’t seem to contribute to anything!
I also take issue with the choice of personnel for the videos. Can’t we do better than having men do demos of all the power exercises whilst women just do the „fall back options“ and stretches? And the only Asian person I’ve seen so far was the model for the Video showing you how to take a 30s break, which doesn’t even download?
But content and approach wise, it does seem to work well.
    Feature requests
    - Apple Watch compatibility
    - ability to say in the settings NO MUSIC in the videos! I play my own music, and it’s annoying to have the same theme tune come up every time I watch a new exercise, and to then manually mute it in the top right of the Video Player
