Live stream doesn’t work
Purchased my system a few years ago and never had an issue with the live stream, since they start of this year the live streaming doesn’t work 95% of the time when on 4G. It’s a disgrace. I’ve helped a friend install a unit at his house with my recommendation and he can’t view his cameras on the live stream at all. It’s disgusting how an app stops working and we have no way to access the cameras besides a computer. Will never recommend or install Swann ever again.Show lessSicilia91
Sometimes good on iphone, works but not good on ipad
It usually fails to open for some reason yet on other occasions is ok.
On iphone there is a nice full screen image but on ipad there is a ridiculous wide task info bar at the top of the screen which blocks out 20% of the picture and there is no way to get rid of it!
As others have said - playback never works although I can get this working on my mac but it is not as user-friendly as it could be - too much detail and numerical clutter.Show lessMitch800235
UPGRADE NEEDED
I spent $1200 on an NVR Camera system 12 months ago and have struggled with this app big time! My parents bought a Swann pan tilt camera for $100 that alerts their app when there is movement. Why does this app not have alerts like this! It’s about time a new app was offered with better features.. I can’t even record footage that is saved to the NVR to my phone or iPad unless it is happening live! So frustrating! I have email alerts set up through my NVR and just receive blank emails half the time. Please upgrade this app!Show lessMeg086
Opening, loading stream, *10mins later* failed
The app chooses when and what you can view.
Sometimes the camera you want opens, sometimes it does not.
Don’t you dare switch to another app and back again, it will forget everything you have done and treat you like you’ve just opened the app...
Useless, it’s easier to use teamviewer to log into my work pc and use the software on the local network there...Show lessGavin031
Playback never works
I bought this product to view things that were happening to my property whilst at work, live view is great, playback never works, select a time stamp and if lucky plays for 2 seconds and then freezes, absolute waste of money, I'm sure it may work if I log into the hard drive but I can do that when I'm at work,
Setting up also a nightmare, doesn't say anywhere in the instructions you need a pic to set up the first viewing, I would assume that as a hdmi lead was supplied that set up would be available via to, mmmm nope, then to get a condescending operator on the USA help desk has really not given me faith this company gives a damm about there apps and after sales servicesShow lessIamcolinbell
It works for my purpose.
Everyone has their own expectations and purposes for using this app. For me; I just want the ability to view live feed. And you know what? It works flawlessly. Actually, I’m happy IOS11 forced me to switch swann apps as this flows better than the last one.
Of course, I haven’t tried recording and what not, and don’t plan on it. If I need to go back ‘in time’, I’d rather go to the base station itself and use a keyboard and mouse. If it’s serious enough for me to pull records, I won’t be sitting on my iPhone doing a looksee; it’ll be reviewed on a big screen.Show lessMuckinFuts
Great for live viewing useless for anything else
I use this app to look at live views of my cameras and it works great. Try and search for activity or just scrub back in time and forget it. Like other users have said just doesn't work. Even if you manage to get it to show some video the minute you try to use the timeline to scrub forward to the next event for example you loose all video and can't get it back. It is absolutely useless for looking and any of the recorded video with is a pretty interesting feature for a surveillance application. I'm giving it 1 star because of how long the authors have been getting complaints about the playback and have don't nothing to fix it.Show lessGmanrrrr
Worst Live Stream
At the beginning the app worked perfectly, but since the updates the live stream starts n in a few seconds it shuts off.
Then it takes a few restarts before it’s up n running then the same happens again.
Please sort this out as I bought the cctv package with Swann reputation in mind but it shows that third party products can do better job than the branded ones.Show lessAMPolra50505
Aweful.
I have an 8 camera system and a 4 camera system...both 1080p and work great on site but streaming the video remotely via this app is aweful. Slow to load, disconnects, video poor....this is the last swann system i will buy due to this apps problems for remote viewingEndings never
