From great to woeful
Inherited an old Swan NVR with a new business and was very impressed with the system and especially the iOS app - everything worked brilliantly and remote viewing was great.
On the back of that, I upgraded to a new NVR with 4Mp cameras in January and since setting up the system and the app successfully, remote viewing has become a nightmare. The app has become extremely buggy, opens select cameras sporadically and generally just “fails to connect”. I can no longer view my business remotely.
I now regret upgrading my system. From recommending Swann to others, I now rate it with one star - the app has become woeful and seriously tarnished my view of Swann.
And I’m obviously not alone!

Buggy and no iPad support
Since day 1 this app has been buggy on an iPhone. Sometimes there are no connection issues, other times you have to set the channel to “balanced” in order to get a stream. Why is there no support for iPad after all this time? Perhaps it is time to find a different system.Adrenalin
Awful App
The app is absolutely terrible and makes all the money spent on hardware and all the time spent setting up the cables a total waste.
Viewing each of the cameras in real time nearly always works well although I often get a ‘login failed’ message.
Playback is terrible even if connected to the same Wi-fi as the Swann system.
1. You can find the recorded segments for a selected camera and start to view a chosen segment. However, in order to view a different segment or a different camera playback, you have to close the app and restart. The app just won’t cope.
2. The playback crashes the iPad.
3. It is frequently impossible to view playback at all and a ‘file not found’ message appears.
I have had my Wi-fi and setup thoroughly checked so the fault is clearly in the app. Judging by the reviews on this app, most people seem to have similar problems. This is not just a free app, it’s an integral part of the CCTV system which cost money. As such, it appears unfit for purpose.
Clearly, this app requires redevelopment. In the meantime, if my observations are valid, I would strongly advise against purchase of this system until the app has been redeveloped.Show lessblokey99
GARBAGE
Since the last update you have to close the app and search a time frame for each and every recording. Once you search and watch one, you can't jump to the next recording you have to close the app, search again, watch, close app repeat.

PLEASE UPDATE SWANN DIGIVIEW! It is the only thing that ever worked for my system and now my phone is “too new” and I can’t open the app. It just give me a message that says the developer needs to update this app in order to use it =/ now I can’t check on my home when I’m away and all your other apps don’t work. I’m not made of money. I can’t just go leisurely drop another 400 for another monitor and 2 cameras. So super dissatisfied. Please, PLEASE fix this!Show lessTya811

I have had this camera system for about two years now. In the beginning it worked great I could do everything from the app, as time went on I progressively lost features in the app. Today all I can do is live feed. If I want to record a live feed forget about it. Look something up from the previous night HA!!! Forget about it. Instead of having the convenience that they advertise on their product. You are stuck to a mouse and screen somewhere in your home. Improved over last Version..needs update
Just Downloaded and installed tonight improvement over last version. Can actually zoom in on video and faster load up. Keep the tweaks and upgrades coming... Swann...Xcells78
Latest version a backward step
I am using this app with an NVR-7085 and NHD-806 cameras
With the previous version of this app for an iPhone, we had 2 encoding/stream choices, fluent and clear.
Fluent would give me maximum of 16 fps and a reasonable image.
Clear would give me very clear image and 25 fps max.
Now with the latest mobile version they have given us three options. Fluent, balanced, and clear.
Fluent is the same as before.
With balanced, the Image is a little better than fluent and 25 fps max or whatever frame rate your mainstream is set at.
The clear option is the best image quality as per previous version but now it won’t give any more and 16 frames per second despite having the mainstream set at 25 frames per second.
This latest version is a major backward step and makes the clear streaming option useless.
Most of my camera monitoring is done from my phone so if they can’t fix what wasn’t broke to start with, I’ll be upgrading my CCTV system to a different brand with better app/software development.Show lessGeoffro 62
