  • In love with this app

I found this app after my first encounter with sciatica problems. It is exactly what I needed! If I am deeply engrossed in something, I will sometimes just stand up and push my office chair away, sort of squat a little to avoid hunching over and go about my business. But generally I try to take a short walk to get water or just to the printer and back. I love how encouraging and non-intrusive this particular app is.
  • Very Helpful App!!

I have a desk job and tend to forget to stand. I’ve started having lots of neck & back aches so I tried this app doing the $1.99 tip. It has lots of tones & color themes, choices for volume, times & location as well as days of the week. I love it, it has definitely helped remind me to Stand Up & Stretch which in turn has helped my aches & pains. They were instantly responsive when I couldn’t figure out something. It’s a great app & does what it states & has responsive email support.
  • Immensely Helpful, low key, beautifully designed

Over several years, STAND UP has served me well to remind me to take a break, breathe, stretch, go outside to get fresh air and sunshine on a regular basis — and return to the original task. This app also works to schedule just about anything that you want to do on a regular basis, where you need a gentle nudge. It is beautifully designed.

I love the feature which allows setting the alarm or reminder to only go off at a particular location. For instance, I can pick goofy, delightful alarms such as the “typing ducks” and be sure they never go off at a business meeting, or a funeral.

What I originally thought was a useful but limited app, has proven itself to be flexible, well-balanced, and thoughtfully designed.

STAND UP is a very simple, low-key app, and I love it!
  • Works ok for the price

I like how it reminds you every hour to get up but a couple of things bother me.

1 -you can’t tell it at what time to set reminders. For example I have it set to remind me from 9 to 8. I would like to be reminded on the hour. It reminds me at about 17 minutes after the hour and I can’t change it.

2 - I paid extra to have additional sounds to choose from. (Not that I paid that much). There are quite a few choices but they are either 1 or 2 seconds long or 30 seconds long. Nothing in between. I’m hard of hearing and often miss the short ones but the long ones are really a bit annoying. It would be good to be able to set the length of time the sound plays or at least have a couple of options that are 10 or 15 seconds long.

    Otherwise it’s fine.
  • Exactly what the doctor ordered. :-)

My doctor wants me to stand up every 20 minutes and this App support this unbelievably short period of time. The App is perfect in that it can recognize when I am at the office as opposed to walking around campus. I just wish this App could somehow tie into the health App and recognize when I am walking around. So often it beeps just after I return from a walk. Might not be allowed to developers, but I can dream right? :-)
  • Support great but APP not so great

After downloading the application I found that I had to donate another $.99 or so to get the rest of the sounds for the alarm. But even after doing that the sounds didn’t really work. So I sent them an email and they responded very quickly saying that I should check almost all the settings on my iPhone that had anything to do with sound. After doing all that the sound still didn’t work so I sent them another email. They responded saying that I should delete the application and restore it and do a few more steps to try to make sure that that would work. After all that I could get the sound to work but only if the app was on and I was using the free app. So now I’m just dumping the app.
I’m using the timer on my phone. Or Alexa. Or even my grandfather clock!
  • Best app for getting you up.

This is a really great app and the developer gets back to you quickly when you need help. Just move the slider back and forth on the bar to make changes. There is also a group of settings in a pull up tab. Under there, you will find color settings, loudness setting, and others. There is also a tab for a tip setting which will give you all the sounds. You decide how much the app is worth to you or not.
  • Does what it says on the tin

Update: Love the changes - they make an already great app even more useful. I like being able set a standing interval and see my 7-day history. I’ve used this app every work day for years, and I’m counting on it for many more to come.

This app reminds me to stand up at regular intervals during the workday, which is exactly what I expect it to do. It gets five stars, though, for having a simple, intuitive, customizable interface along with the best privacy policy I've read.

I've used this app on a near daily basis for over a year, and I can't imagine why I would ever stop.
  • Great App - Simple to Use

I work at a desk and need a reminder to get up and move around. This is the perfect little app! You can select how often to remind you, what days, and even where. The snooze is a very nice feature too if you’re not able to get up and move at the moment. Simple and effective. It’s just what I need! It’s free with one sound but with a donation you can unlock other sounds. I personally like the Unignorable sound. And - you can customize your alert message. I put in a Bible Verse to memorize. Fancy that!! Every time the alarm goes off I get up to stretch AND practice my Bible memorization. I can’t say enough good things about “Stand Up!” I highly recommend this neat little app.
  • Good PA reminder!!

This app is the best of the physical activity (PA) or movement apps I have tested. Many other require turning on notifications for the day, and this one goes off every day, on time. I also really love the message (Stand up, we want you to live longer!) <-- that's pretty funny, and also sort of a guilt-trip.

The one thing I think could be improved: the notifications may stack up if I don't look at my phone for a while. Maybe the app should require a more immediate response to turn off the notification (like an alarm would need).
