What the h*** is this??!!
I bought my cacoon cam after my baby was born specifically for the breathing and movement feature. It worked great for a year. Now it just stopped working and I finally see an email they sent me saying they’re dropping out and referred me to this app. This app doesn’t work at all and apparently doesn’t use the features I chose the camera for in the first place! It says to use Ethernet? Well I don’t have Ethernet up here because we use Wi-Fi which is another reason I chose this camera in the beginning. I demand compensation for an equal or better camera!Show less$ammi€
Crappy App
Like so so so many others, I had to switch to this app from Cocoon Cam App. I had the Cocoon Cam for about 2 years and loved it. This app? Trash. If I wanted to periodically check in on my home, then yeah camera quality is decent and it would be a decent app. But for watching a toddler, this is the worst. If I close the app to do ANYTHING else on my phone, I lose the sound. That was the best thing about the Cocoon Cam app. I could have the sound running all the time and just check in on the camera. This app makes me nervous to close out of. I’m really frustrated that I bought a camera based on the capabilities of the app and now they are no longer available. Not happy.Show lessYouojfksnsjzs d
Terrible Update
We were unaware of the Cacoon App being updated. It wasn’t until our child was asleep and in bed that we realized the app no longer worked. That was terrible communication. Setting up the app and pairing the device was not user friendly at all and definitely couldn’t be done with our son asleep in his crib. The app itself is terrible. I used to be able to toggle screens on my phone with the cacoon cam working in the background, still being able to hear from the room. If you leave the screen, you lose signal and can no longer see or hear your child. You have to open the app again and wait for it to come online. There is a slight delay, but there was a delay with the cacoon cam as well. Fix the toggle screen ASAP.Show lessrealtalkwithmeeeee
Sorry Cocoon Cam Users... It’s Terrible
When Cocoon Cam dropped their app support I thought for sure they would refer their customer base, who paid $230+ for a baby monitor with breathing monitoring, to a strong video streaming service. I knew that the breathing monitoring would be gone, but with my daughter being nearly 18 months old, I didn’t really need that anymore anyway. I don’t even know where to start with how bad this app is. It doesn’t pair correctly, so sometimes there is no sound, other times there is no video, it only pairs PER device...so you want to pull your child up on another device while you look at your phone? Sorry, gonna have to wait until they wake up and pair it separately. It also is incapable of running in the background, so if you close out the app, it drops the signal and there is a 50/50 chance it gets it back. Finally (and maybe most importantly for parents) the sound and video are very delayed. I would attribute this to my internet, but Cocoon Cam did just fine. The video is so delayed that your toddler can be out of the crib before you see it registering on the screen.... so sorry Cocoon Cam users...time to buy yet another baby monitor.Show lessKeb1187
Cocoon cam scam
We received the notice that cocoon cam wouldn’t be supporting their app and camera after May 31st and we would need to download this app to continue to view our baby monitor. What a joke. Like other reviewers, set up was the farthest thing from easy and not only does the app not support the very features we bought the cocoon cam for, half the time it doesn’t work! The app shuts down if you go out of it, to another app on your phone so I am constantly having to reconnect the app in order to see my baby. Unrealistically, I wish we had of known Cocoon Cam wasn’t in this for the long haul... what a waste. We are now buying another baby monitor to replace this one because this app is useless.Show lessLja6472
Awful
This app is terrible! I bought the CocoonCam camera so we could have a breathing monitor on our baby. When the company went under, we were forced to download this app if we wanted to continue to have use of our baby monitor. It doesn’t have the breathing monitor, which is fine since our baby is almost 2. However, the sound and microphone don’t work either! Not only that, I get about a minute or 2 worth of picture before it tells me that it disconnected, and I should check my internet. There is NOTHING wrong with our internet. Same camera as Cocoon cam but doesn’t work
Cocoon cam is going bankrupt and today was the last day to switch to this service. It’s the same camera, same network, same everything except the app. On ismartproview it keeps losing connection. Trying to use microphone function results in an error 80% of the time. There is a lag in the video and it’s skipping frames occasionally. The funny thing is that Cocoon app still works today with the same camera. Everything is behaving fine. The only logical explanation is that video must be sent to a Chinese server somewhere if you are using ismartproview. The only difference is the app and none of these problems exist accessing the camera through Coccoon. That tells me it’s not hardware or the network causing these issues and low quality. I Hate You CocoonCam People
I loved my CocoonCam. It worked successfully for over a year. It was my saving grace in the mornings. I work from home teaching English online and I could watch my son and see that he was fine and breathing. Now that we had to switch to the manufacturer’s app, nothing works. I can’t even get the camera to connect. I followed the instructions and it said the set up was a success. BUT... It keeps saying “connection” “offline.” I reset my router and reset my WiFi. Cocoon cam
Set up was easy. Video worked, for a couple of days, now it just stays constantly “offline”. Even when the video did work, I couldn’t get the sound to work. No audio from video, and no two way audio either. These functions worked with the CocoonCam app, but that app won’t be supported anymore and we had to switch to this one. Not very happy about it. This defeats the purpose of a baby monitor. Basically, our cocoon cams are now paperweights and we have to buy a different monitoring system. This app is worthless.Show lessC2harper
