Bluetooth Connectivity

The whole program for connecting bluetooth is completely wrong. This is an issue all across. I will be sending an email right after this review because something so simple shouldn’t be doing this.

Connects to power but does n it t recognise unit.

S200 settings seem to have wiped, robot needs to be activated every day. Tried to adjust settings with this app but it failed to find my robot. Tried a number of things, resetting, off/on device/robot/power disconnect/reconnect, but no result. Also, old barracuda left pool sparkling & clear, this robot does not clear sediment, pool has been cloudy ever since. Expensive, and unfortunately not operating as well as my old barracuda.

Why bother?

Did someone hire their 14 year old nephew as a programmer? Connectivity is terrible.I can accidentally connect my phone to some old headphones from 45 feet away. Why is this so difficult? Functionality is terrible, and a no point is there a link to an instruction manual that even tells you what the buttons are. I don’t need videos. I know how to place a pool cleaner in a pool. I know how to remove one from the pool. You don’t define or explain the buttons or their functions anywhere on your app or a website. Please fix this — it’s been years.

Problems resolved

I have had issues but the developers provided a fix. Since then it works consistently. With iPhone 12 Pro the Bluetooth connectivity is great with the ability to connect and control from over 10m.

Very poor

The quality of the app and the device itself (M500) is shockingly bad for the price you pay. BT connection is extremely slow and often the app has to be killed and restarted to get it to find the robot at all. Frequently in the app it doesn’t maintain scheduled cleaning programs and you often see a “\n” in several places in text (software devs know what this means..) Somehow it gets through quality testing. Step it up Maytronics or fire your software dev team.

Need more time

Great product. But app really lets the dolphin down. It needs to be able to clean for 4-5 hours I think. Sometimes your want it to run during the night and 2.5 hours is not long enough. Specially the people with over hanging trees.
Also a notification that’s it’s finish on your phone would be good feature. That way your prompt to go change it and clean it..

Another feature I would like to see is a home for the robot. An area where it sits protected but when timed to run again and clean it will drive 1.5 meters and drop into pool..

Clunky but functional

As a tip for those pulling their hair out from Bluetooth connectivity issues while hunched over the power supply - first try deleting the app and reinstalling (or Settings-myDolphin-Bluetooth). iOS added some Bluetooth permissions which may block the app by default if you installed it a while ago. I think it’d be great if the app indicated whether Bluetooth permissions were an issue rather than having users go bananas.

Cleaning - no mode

Why is this app suddenly shows cleaning no mode? I can’t change any mode at all and also the clean cycle time. Everytime I try to choose a mode it shows error!

The worst customer service ever

For years I had a Polaris to clean my pool with never an issue but after owning it for 15 years I thought it was time for some new technology. Boy am I sorry I chose the Dolphin. I have had nothing but trouble. The app doesn’t work on an iPhone. I cannot get my dolphin to register any cleaning modes and all customer service told me after the usual delete and reinstall the app was my dolphin was purchased a year and a half ago and it’s out of warranty. Needless to say I live in the northeast and only used it for one summer before these issues. It’s clearly an app issue because my pool company was able to get it to work on their Samsung phone. I’m so disgusted.

Not working

After this recent update the app doesn’t work I have tried everything and still not working
